Is current WD download bad?
« on: August 05, 2022, 02:53:22 PM »
There are some reports on the WD forum which suggest the 4th July WD installer is corrupt. Has any one here had issues with it?

I tried earlier today to install for purpose of testing for a question and I had it give "File Corrupted" error and install failed. I downloaded three times.

Good to know, I looked at the current download and was concerned that it was significantly smaller than previous files and as I said some others have issues with it.

Stuart

Just looked at the downloads and there is a new one today 5th July which looks normal size so hopefully is OK. I made an opps there. Anyway today 6th August there is a version from the 5th August which is 206mb so hopefully that one is OK.

Interesting. The download that fail3d on me was an install executable, not a zip file.

Is the main screen the same old one ? Or is it better? I have considered giving up on it because it is hard to read and the graphs on the right side eat up too much space. I know lots use it because of it being a "Swiss Army Knife" but I get a better view of conditions from VWS or WX Solutions on my local screen. Is there a way to modify the main screen of WD to make it easier to read ? I have tried the settings but still end up with those huge graphs.

I haven't had a look at it fired up yet. Will try it out to see how it looks on new wide-screen.

Hi
if you go into the file>advanced/Misc settings > Main screen customize,  there is an option to move the main screen details around.  I agree I dont like the graphs so I have moved, so i have moved them all out of the way to a really small box that i just ignore..

Thanks

Thanks I will try that. I hear complaints about how "dated" Weatherlink looks but WD seems to be looking old too. The info is hard to read without going in and changing colors and fonts. Would be nice if the main panel were redesigned and cleaned up.

The main screen is very customizable, it can take quite some time to get it how you want it mind but once done there shouldn't be a need to touch it again, mines been like this (see image) for the last hundred years, give or take ;)

Hi bashy
Very nice screen layout.
Mines getting there, just always tweaking it and adding more info.

This is getting rather off topic so might be worth a mod splitting off the screen customisation to a separate thread so folks could find it more easily!
