Make sure you check the Ptfe wafer (membrane) for deterioration -- it can come apart and try to 'weld' with the top of the ceramic....If the top of the ceramic shows any residue, keep the residue wet with distilled water and rub gently with your fingertip to remove it.... let it dry out thoroughly, then replace the wafer.
These should be replaced seasonally..
