Is 53,000 considered a major hub?

When is the next chance for precip heading your way??? Looking for another possible accumulation come Tuesday Night. It depends how close we get to the low riding the eastern seaboard

Windy with 55 mph gusts…a powerful trough is moving through here apparently. It's been awhile since I've seen dust storms…the one we're getting right now is a pain…tempted to leave the bike locked up on the dorm racks and just walk to class!

On the flip side, we have a slight chance of getting some snow, with very, and I mean VERY, little accumulation. But that's tonight.

Near 50 today.... A big cool down coming though with the wet snow coming.....However a slight warmup into the 40s will come in for the weekend, before highs in the 20s return Tuesday with another big snowmaker perhaps.

Not speaking of your turf as a major hub. They receive though, right? Just a drop off point. Atlanta is prime territory, though. Primary transportation hub for the entire SE of the country makes it the Holy Grail for the Cartels. I'm surprised your traffik isn't from there.

MON, TUE, WED are showing a 20% chance of precip. My #10 longest dry is 30 days back in NOV 2009. I'm at 29 days as of today so looks like a new Top Ten coming!

Although Week 3 Stats arent quite ready yet, we have received a lot of precip this week; in part because of the extremely wet snow that fell this morning and 2 days ago.

With temps in the 60s beforehand, the ground will probably be too warm for snow to stick?

We're getting a sharp cold front sometime after Sunday…it is expected to sink temperatures roughly 20 degrees below average. There's not much out here to hold the heat (unlike a large city, such as Phoenix or Albuquerque).

...POTENTIAL WINTER STORM DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE COMING
WORK WEEK...

AFTER THE RECENT PROLONGED PERIOD OF GENERALLY TIMID WEATHER ACROSS
MUCH OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL NEW MEXICO...PRECIPITATION CHANCES WILL
INCREASE AND TEMPERATURES WILL PLUMMET DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE
COMING WORK WEEK AS A COUPLE OF POTENTIALLY STRONG DISTURBANCES CROSS
IN CLOSE SUCCESSION. COMPUTER MODELS DIFFER IN THE TRACK AND TIMING
OF THE SYSTEMS...BUT THE FIRST SYSTEM MAY CROSS OVER NEW MEXICO FROM
THE NORTHWEST MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY WITH ENOUGH MOISTURE AND COLD
AIR TO PRODUCE WIDESPREAD PRECIPITATION MAINLY IN THE FORM OF SNOW.
FURTHER...A SHARP BACK DOOR COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO PUSH THROUGH
THE EASTERN PLAINS MONDAY NIGHT WITH BRISK WINDS AND FRIGID
TEMPERATURES. HIGHS IN THE TEENS AND 20S MAY BE COMMON ACROSS MUCH OF
EAST CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO ON TUESDAY. SIGNIFICANT SNOW
ACCUMULATION WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE NORTHERN AND WESTERN
MOUNTAINS...AND MUCH OF NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO BEFORE
THE FIRST SYSTEM EXITS TO THE EAST LATE TUESDAY.

THE SECOND SYSTEM MAY DROP FROM THE NORTH NORTHWEST THROUGH THE STATE
CLOSELY ON THE HEALS OF THE FIRST TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY OR
PERHAPS WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SOME COMPUTER MODELS SUGGEST THIS SECOND
SYSTEM MAY CARRY WITH IT ENOUGH MOISTURE FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW
TO CONTINUE ALONG AND WEST OF THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN.

I still show 20% showers for that period and not too much change in the temps. A little colder. I'm sure it'll change for me by Sat nite.

Good luck! I went sledding all day today in this very wet snow from being off of school, and then made a 5 1/2 foot tall snowman! 8-)

If I'm lucky enough, US Hwy 70 will be closed going out of Portales, I'll be sledding down a hill off the Greyhound Arena building and into the parking lot…and throwing snowball fights.

Sounds like a day-full of fun to me! 8-)

I'll be doing the same tomorrow: Sledding off my hill, and torturing everything that moves with very hard and wet snowballs!

If I hear of a crazed sledder flying past my part of US70, can I conclude that your plan went awry?

Does that make a plan awry??? You know, if I personally went flying into New Mexico with a sled, I would call that success.

Okay…here's what I've forecasted:

Saturday: Windy. High 67, dropping to 55 by 5 PM.
Sunday: Windy, High 60.
Monday: High 55, Cloudy.

This is where things get ugly.

Monday Night: Ice/Snow. Low 20.
Tuesday: Snow, High 27,
Tuesday Night: Snow, Low 7.
Wednesday: Snow, High 15.
Wednesday Night: Snow, Low 0.

The BEST chances here range from 20-40% during that time period.

Chris - wait until THU nite...

For me, Monday nite dropped to 10% for precip with 20% TUE thru WED. The nite temps slide down M-29, T-23, W-20 and Thursday down to 18.

Speaking of precip - a new Top Ten for me today:

Well, I guess they wanted us to share the wealth. My forecast has changed quite a bit.
Wed nite dropped to 10% precip but Tue nite thru Wed nite is now calling for... SNOW!  \:D/

M-27, T-15, W-11 for nitetime lows now with Thu nite at 16. I guess they see it as colder and quicker. Some of that North wind will be blowing as well - mid 20MPH
