Flying insects are one thing but when they're wood eating Carpenter Ants... Get 'em fast and get 'em early!
It's like an alien invasion. The dozens and dozens of swarmers pick their spot, start digging and drop their future society in their own hole. Next thing you know, there's a subterranean network branching out with dozens and dozens of workers scurrying about. I've learned that where there's one very active hole, there will be at least one more associated one within 10 or 15 feet. I hit the main one with that Amdros (sp) bait and shut down the others with Spectracide granules and also make an enclosing loop around it all with it.
A bunch of booms and flashes dropped a quarter inch of rain so far and pushes me over an inch for the month (1.75"-year). A nice steady, easy rain falling right now and a nice drop to 67 degrees. The pitter-patter sounds nice on the skylite.
