Got some thunder boomies here...and some dots on the window...but that's about it. They're still saying heavy rain later this week.

Effective:   Sun, 10-Jul-2011 3:19pm MDT

Message summary: ...showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rains possible monday through wednesday...
Moist unstable air will flow into southern new mexico and western texas while upper level disturbances move into the area. This weather pattern will generate increasing showers and thunderstorm activity monday through wednesday. A few storms will produce very heavy rains with rainfall amounts exceeding 2 inches over very isolated locations. Thus flash flooding may occur...especially near arroyos and streams and across low lying areas. Wind gusts to 50 mph may also occur with a few storms. Area residents should keep informed of the latest weather forecasts and information by listening to noaa weather radio and local television and radio stations.

Cool. That heavy moist plume will dodge Albuquerque to the west by about 50 or so miles.  #-o

My RADAR is starting to look interesting and I received another deluge of 0.01" last nite.

I wouldn't mind some rain while I'm gone - let it fill up the pool a little.

I know one thing - all this rain & humidity here in Tampa makes me feel like I'm melting...

Pat,
Do you think you can stand all the rain at once?  Wouldn't want a major disaster on our hands down there!

We got .03" of rain this evening. Radar is lighting up big time, but the rainfall totals are disappointing. We had a clash of outflow boundaries this afternoon...temp dropped from 93*F to 73*F in three and a half hours. In the last four hours it dropped to 68*F.

I hope you guys get something substantial out of this moisture surge, Chris.  ;)

We managed to pick up .51in so far this month at my station and .77in fell at the airport.
Some areas in the Valley have totaled more than an inch so far in July.

It looks like your best chances will be today and tonight before high pressure starts
to push the moisture back to the west.

Similar in my neck as well - 58 Dew, low 50s HUM, upper 70s. Graficast is showing scattered Tstorms with locally heavy rains for today.

Guess I'll get home in time to watch the skeeters swarming around the fresh weeds...

Mark - The rains are gone, other than a drizzle here & there but the humidity... I met up with a bunch of folks last nite out towards Clearwater for a patio setting at a local establishment. I had to leave after an hour and a half. When the 'Sweet & Low' is like jelly, it's time to go. It was brutal (to me) but nothing that a top-down cruise across the Campbell Causeway couldn't fix. Funny how it's never a bother when I'm right on the water.

Well the swamper is just barely getting by today...40% hum isn't too bad, but it is noticeable. I woke up at 8 this morning soaking in my own sweat. A glance at the Wx station showed 67% humidity (not to mention the door to my bedroom was a pain in the ass to open this morning). The ceiling fan isn't cutting it, and I can't get a window A/C unit.  ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

And a whopping 0.12" hit the bucket yesterday!  \:D/ That's the most I've had since at least Oct 21 when I had 0.11"!

A grand total of 0.22" for the year.

I'm still certain that I'll get hammered between now and September tho'. 2008 started this way - 0.42" by mid-July and then WHAM! 9" and over 16" for the year total.

Humidity low I hope Cienega? Whew!

DPs are in the mid 40s now, I know that will drop as the daytime heating begins. Our chances for storms is pretty weak too. Our daytime highs is in the mid 90s. Dog days of summer. Again.  ](*,)

"Fortunately", I'm still in Tampa where it's very muggy or coming down in buckets. I'll wager that by Wednesday or so, I'll be getting hit with rain in Cruces being Tampa today is nice and sunny right now but rain is forecast everywhere between here and Houston the next 2 days.

I'm sure it'll be in my path the whole drive home... ](*,)

I stopped in JAX for a few hours to see an old buddy from back in the day and got nailed with rain after I left. Windshield nice and clean and most of the dirt/dust is washed off.

And I just put new fancy spritzers in before I left home...

Sheesh! For the first time, I made it to the USS Alabama in time to tour it. By the time I came back topside, it was pouring. I overnite in HOU and in the morning - yup - buckets.

I made it home this afternoon and found that yesterday here saw 0.15".

I did it - I brought back the rain from Tampa and points between!

Looks like a pretty solid monsoon set-up starting now through the whole southwest.  I'm only at 1.80" for the monsoon season in Sedona, AZ, but that included one gully-washer that peaked at 3.97 inches per hour rain rate.  That one filled up my rain barrels quick for sure.

We're dealing with thunder and humidity up here...swamper sucks today.

And the fire scar up north is getting washed out today. Not good. (At least not at this time of year).

But here in the city...we're getting zilch.  ](*,)
