Reolink RLC-410W
« on: October 08, 2018, 06:00:14 PM »
Is anyone using the Reolink RLC410W IP camera and it’s built in FTP settings to upload their webcam image to Weather Underground? I just bought one and love the image quality, but am only able to view it on the app on my phone or on a PC at home. There are still no images showing up on my Wunderground page using the cameras built in FTP service and I was wondering if anyone else has it working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

After lots of fiddling around with software, etc. I think I finally got my webcam image on my webpage. My Reolink camera FTP’s the image once per minute to my webcam.io page. You can view my cam at my website http://monumenthillweather.webs.com or directly at this link... https://assets1.webcam.io/w/MmB5V9/latest.jpg

When you first load either page you have to hit refresh on your browsers window to get the latest image. It’s a work in progress but I’m just glad to get an image finally uploading! Right in the heart of foliage season here too! Now to link the cam to my Weather Underground station page KMELEEDS7.

Hello,

Just curious if you ever got these going with WU. Doesn’t look like they’re there now? I believe that WU has been having lots of turbulence with their camera capabilities but still piecing it together.
Looking at getting a camera for my station and the Reolink cameras seem like a nice option.
Any advice?

Thanks! The image from your site looks like gorgeous country!

Best,
Sam

WU is hopeless, no matter which webcam you have.

I have the RLC-410-5MP IP camera. It has been outside here in Montana since late November and is doing well after several storms and lots of cold weather. You can see images from it at this post:

Two different interfaces working there. The Webcam.io image is via a FTP from the camera to the service. The WeatherBridge image is that appliance pulling images from the camera. Should give you a sense of what is possible. Do understand that the weather data showing on both feeds is not the native Reolink data setup. I send the weather data to Webcam.io through a script and they add it to the image. WeatherBridge adds the station data via its setup.

Nice.  How about bi-passing service that is probably based on a free tool you can do the same yourself?  See https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=39226.0

Will check that out. That would allow me to drop the webcam.io service.

I have the same camera and am about to give up on having a webcam with my weather station. I have been fighting this thing for a week now. One minute it’s fine and uploading to WU every 10 minutes, then it goes off line on their site for no reason. But yet I can still get to it online and on the software so I know it’s still up. I even went as far as having it save the images to my drive to see if it was working. It was saving them just fine. WHAT is the issue with the FTP to WU?

It always seems to be behind in time, it goes online, offline, disappears, what a pain!

Do a quick scan on WU on the forums here. Dozens of posts about the WU issues, so no need to repeat here. Short story: IBM appears to have moved away from supporting the WU platform.

So, it is not your camera. I have two Reolink cameras now. One wifi, one POI/IP. They work great on about three different services. I gave up on WU, both for the camera and my weather data.
