Weather Conditions Discussion / Re: Spring/Summer 2024

So far, Stillwater has been on the fringes of the worst storms but barely.  This afternoon signs of a tornado were detected on radar south of Stillwater.  But sirens weren't sounded.  However, visible signs of a tornado were spotted on the far north edge of Stillwater.  Then the sirens were sounded then even though the storm had just passed. More strong storms are expected later tonight with a flood watch as well as tornado watch underway.  If the storm rain trains, there's risk of flooding.  Along I-44 is speculated to be a prime area for it, if that happens.  Hopefully, not much sun today is keeping things from getting worse.

Some pretty nasty couplets in north TX, OK, and south KS. Looks to be a busy day.

I’m due to replace my temp/hum sensor. Usually gets replaced every year when I do my spring cleaning. However I might hold off a bit to see if more positive reports come in like yours.

If I were you, I’ll pull the trigger! I had a friend who just recently bought a VP2 and he is getting the same results as the Petals station. I don’t own the station at Petals From The Past, but I do maintain the station for them.

I’m planning on replacing my passive shield and sensor for my VP2 at my house in the near future and I’m already in the process of replacing my VP2 station I have at a friend’s farm.

I got my Davis gear through Scaled Instruments btw.

I have “pulled the trigger” many times replacing the SHT31 in my 3 VP2s. No more. Until Davis comes up with a real solution I will just live with inaccurate humidity readings and move on.

I remember that!

I might have a play with that later. Thanks for the link.
