I'm back...
« on: January 11, 2020, 08:54:39 AM »
Hi All,

I've been MIA from WxForum for a few months. My wife and I had been axle-wrapped in elder care starting almost 4 years ago, culminating in the passings of both of our mothers within 2 and a half weeks back in April/May. The last few months have been dealing with arrangements, services, estates, estate sale and dealing with the remains of that, selling my Mom's condo etc etc etc.

This was our first orphan Christmas, and we should close escrow on the condo by the end of the month.

So, we're starting to figure out what The New Normal is for us, and I should be back on the forum more regularly.

Peace,

Chris AKA SLOweather

Glad to see you are back.
If I come to SLO with my wife in April, I will stop by and buy you a drink of your choice.

Welcome back, Chris .. my condolences for your loss of both mothers in so short a time and for the family turmoil in unwinding the estates.  We've been there too.  Hopefully, you'll find the New Normal a lot less hectic.

Best regards,

Welcome back, Chris.  I'm glad you were there for them during these last years, I know that it hasn't been an easy time.  Here's hoping the rest of this journey goes smoothly.  People seldom think of adult children becoming orphans, but it is real.  My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Thanks, everyone. Both of the mothers were ready to go. My mom, at 95, was especially in charge all the way to the end, telling the ICU nurses to turn the damn machines off, she was ready to die. (She'd had a heart attack the night before. There is more to the story but I won't trouble you with it.)

So, escrow should close on her condo before the end of the month, and that's pretty much it...

Now then, what's been happening around here? :) By my estimation, I must have missed out on ~20,000 posts...
