Solar IP camera
« on: July 01, 2020, 07:24:28 PM »
Hey guys, I’ve read a few posts here about using solar panels and a battery to power an IP camera, but the posts are pretty old. I use a solar panel, controller, and battery to run my PurpleAir sensor and that works great.
I’m wondering if anyone has any more recent experience with solar panels and IP cameras?
Thank you for any advice or recommendations!

Went with a Foscam G4, 12v 35AH AGM battery, 10 amp solar controller, started with a 20 watt panel which was fine just powering the PurpleAir sensor alone, but as soon as I added the camera it was too slow to charge the big battery, so I added another 50 watt panel and wired them in parallel.
Works great! https://www.joe4speed.com/livecam.php
