Thanks Brian.  I used the "simpleupdate"method and all looks good.  The FAQ page is well done...
However I must have missed something in my reading as the full Contact form does not come up www.komokaweather.com/pws.  I just uploaded the added contactform folder in /pws/ and presume I need to do some edit?

Enjoying,
Paul

look fine here Paul screenshot attached

Re: HOMEWEATHERSTATION Dashboard icons updated
« Reply #151 on: October 24, 2016, 12:40:01 PM »
New icons updated for flurries,sleet and night time icons, icons are available via new area http://weather34.com/homeweatherstation/websiteicons/weathericons.html

the download includes PSD/SVG/PNG files currently they are currently named for weather underground forecast/current api service however you can adapt to other services just by renaming the icons to the appropriate name required by the service.

main template simple update for standard version only

the simple update zip file was updated with new contact form includes captcha security and many thanks to Piet http://www.weerstation-sauwerd.nl over the weekend for testing and eliminating the server config issue of session_start(),
contactform uses existing email set in the settings.php so there is nothing to configure if you have set $email = "something@dot.com"

also included change to moonphase.php,index.php,indexnew.php and css folder with changes to main.light.css/main.dark.css also includes new icons.to use just replace existing files/folders on server download at http://weather34.com/homeweatherstation/index.html

Replenishment

Replace in the folder contactform in the file contactform.php rule 109 by the following rule

<div style="font-family:Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size:16px; float:left; width:500px;" align="left"> <span style="color:#f26c4f;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;"> <?php echo "$stationName \n"; ?> - </span> <span style="color:#00A4B4;">Contact Form

Then get you your own weaterstation name

See print screen

Furthermore you can in the same folder in the file index.php rule 20 still change on this way

$email_subject     = "Email recieved from  put here your own weather station name";

Then you can see what weather station the mail comes from.
Easy if you have several weather sites with its own email address

But first make a backup before you make the changes

Best regards en succes,

Piet

Hi,
i'm very interested to this template.
I think the graphics part is the best in the template word but it's only one page :(
Is it possible to aggregate other pages to make a portal with some weather data?

I would use this template to make all these pages: www.meteocarmignano.it  except index page naturally.

Is it possible?
Thank you so much.
Regards,

P. S.
Now in test here: http://nuovosito.meteocarmignano.it

 i think i understand

you can adapt the template to a personal liking however it was designed as a dashboard though you can create a duplicate
layout(index?.php) and just replace module areas with what ever data you wish to use . need some experience in flexbox css and general php coding if you have that then no restrictions just down to your imagination.

have a nice day.

thanks to all the contributors over the last two weeks and glad to say we came up with a relatively good solution that will allow future updates and improvements without too much coding.
you can now download the UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE VERSION  at http://weather34.com/homeweatherstation

there was also minor update to the standard version

the translations are ongoing and only require a simple file replacement to update each time so be patient with us not all translators are weather enthusiasts some of the translators
are local friends here and myself being a foreigner living here in Istanbul the expat community is a small community where we get to meet many people from all over the world. most interesting translation
will be S.Korean by a student for his project no idea how that will turn out.

More goodness and something simply new to make even better user experience..
sometime this month also I will release something that was put back for some time due to focusing on other ideas . the next release mid November will have a
HOMEWEATHERSTATION EASYSETUP SCREEN . see screenshot below  . basically setup once and forget no more confusing mass of lines to edit .the easy setup panel has the necessary options to have it all up and running in minutes. click and forget . currently being beta tested but not expecting any issues as it was done months ago just needed some css styling. I am away for one week for a week without computers just a phone ,sand and sea and mountains..so don't worry if I don't respond to any emails or pm I will when I get back.

Hi Brian,
just a question, I know you said the translations are not complete, but I looked at the Czech version and please dont get annoyed, but it is awful and I don't believe this was done by a Czech. If I disregard the fact 80% of the strings are untranslated, even the ones that are are usually wrong, in two-word phrases only one is translated etc. Was this really done by a Czech person? The problem is that you even have a Czech flag in the languages on the main screen, but this is totally unusable (eg. wind direction translated as wind etc.). Some of the translations are funny, like "Full Moon" - we have a special word for it, but it was translated literally as "full moon", "daylight" translated as "game with light" etc. and someone who does not speak Czech cant spot this and they might include it in their template.

I dont want to be critical, you have done a great job with your template, but this seems to me a bit like half-baked product. I would wait until the languages are translated before including them in the download file.

One more thing.... I dont like people who criticize without saying what is the right way of doing things :-)

Attached is a translated CZ file. If you want you can use it.

Keep up the good work.

P.S.
Only thing I dont understand is this:

Code: [Select]
$lang['Falling'] = 'Klesající';
$lang['Rising'] = 'Stoupající';
$lang['Steady'] = 'Stabilní';
$lang['Rapidly'] = 'Rychle';
$lang['Temp'] = 'Temp';

What is "Temp" in the context of trends?

And the Universal version http://www.komokaweather.com/pws-ul/index.php?lang=en (not updating the cron files for this as yet so WU info will become stale)

No issue with the template Brian, it is just something in my system that gives that warning (also periodically in the Saratoga template and other scripts).

You are welcome, just if you could check that last trend string, either it shouldnt be there, or it should be something different or if it is supposed to be there then you should maybe explain it in a comment because others are probably not going to understand either what you mean by "Temp" in the context of trends and the words above it.

At the realtime update there is a warning which can be seen to pop up regularly - www.komokaweather.com/pws
  Warning:  file_get_contents(../pws/realtimePWS.txt): failed to open stream: Stale file handle in /home/content/96/5379896/html/pws/livedata.php on line 8

A similar message pops up occasionally on some other of my scripts.

Paul,
try finding the corresponding line in the code and then paste somewhere in that file this:

Code: [Select]
function curlMain($url){
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT, 10);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERAGENT,"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0");
$data = curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);
return $data;
}

And then replace the file_get_contents with curlMain

like this:
file_get_contents("http://www.....");

to

curlMain("http://www.....");

Hi Brian

Is there any skill to getting the forecast output to work? I enter my location of Waterford, Ireland and i get 25c forecast each day. We would be lucky to get that in the summer  :grin: Great job by the way

Can someone tell me if this great work will function with the Froggit HP1003 console display?

This is a non-wifi clone of the Fine Offset HP1003. I would purchase from Germany and the transmission frequency is 868MHz.

The fact that it is not wifi enabled makes me wonder if it really qualifies as a WS-1001 clone.

Would be very nice if I could use this, as the display modification makes it much more attractive than the stock offering.

Best,

Dave M

Very nice ! It is on my list to look it over in detail. I don't know if you are still supporting this or not. I went to your demo setup link and ended up on a dead page about Boutique Hotels in Italy. I am more of the Motel 6 kind of guy...LOL......
