This is the same camera that I have and same company that I ordered from. Sold from NetView on Amazon. Hope this helps. 100% positive feedback thats why I took a chance with them and turned out to be great. Arrived on my doorstep in like 4 days.

http://www.amazon.com/HIKVISION-DS-2CD2032-I-Outdoor-Bullet-Network/dp/B00M6NC9CG/ref=sr_1_2?m=A1STITYLR3EJP5&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1417992718&sr=1-2&keywords=hikvision

I am also using the TP-LINK TL-PoE150S Gigabit PoE Injector with it connected to 100ft of Cat 5E cable.

http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-PoE150S-Gigabit-Injector-compliant/dp/B001PS9E5I/ref=pd_bxgy_p_text_y

The injector is plugged into a router in my garage thats bridged to my main router upstairs. I had to connect it to my main router before I connected it to the router in garage. Download SADP software from Hikvision's website and it will find your camera. Change the IP and the port to whatever you want and plug in your Default Gateway IP. Then change the port on the configuration page and port forward on your router. I have mine streaming with Webcam 7.

Here is a fiery sunset over Pikes Peak. The sun is BRIGHT!

15 minutes later this is what I see.

Little more detail in the night mode. Look at the building across the highway.

Thanks. I think you guys are right. I have it set now to auto so when it gets dark enough it will switch to night mode. Here it is  Live streaming. You can see some bugs flying around too.

Thanks Ryan, you pushed me over the edge.  I have been wanting to get a webb cam for quite a while and this convinced me.  Ordered from Amazon yesterday, same place you got yours.  Hope I can figure out how to get it up and running.

If you need help just let me know. Did you get the POE injector as well? It's an excellent camera. It's very small and well built. You won't be disappointed.

Have you been getting snow up your way?  They are talking about a storm  this weekend that might wallop my area.

Thanks for he offer.  Hopefully I will figure it out before getting too frustrated, but I will keep you in mind.  I did get the PoE injector also.  They say everrything should be here in a week.  I'm hoping sooner.

I have had a total of a quarter inch of snow so far in December, but had 19 inches in November, so there is still snow on the ground.  They aren't predicting any snow here for the next ten days.  Hope you don't get hit too bad this weekend.

I spent a few days getting the aimed and playing with camera settings, so assumed you'd improve upon the initial setup.  :-)

That is true. I finally realized after I got it all working right. Thats about as straight as I can get it. The road that you see is not level so it makes it difficult.

Guess I wasn't paying attention when I ordered the camera.  Was just looking at the pdf manual online and it gives system requirement of 1 gig of RAM and my old XP only has 512 meg.  Oh well, just more money.

I agree the Hikvisions are great cameras. I have two I use for security.

I currently use a Panasonic BL-C140A for my weather webcam that points west and gets direct sun. Do you have any concerns about the Hikvisions taking direct sun as yours does? I have always heard that pointing a camera into the sun will damage it over time. However, my BL-C140 seems do be doing fine after a year pointing west.

Give it a try, I had no issue with the web interface, including live view, using my old IBM R40e (a slow celery processor and 1 gig actual RAM, about 700 something meg recognized).

Not really concerned about the sun. I've never had trouble with any of my cams pointing west towards the sun.  I also have an Axis and my security cam which is the same Panasonic you have. Mine is only in direct sun light for a few hours then the sun goes behind the mountains.
