My first weather station from the '70s

The anemometer never worked like I thought it should, but I probably didn't read the instructions.

One still sealed in the box is going for $50 on ebay:

I had that exact same kit as a kid!  I remember the weather wheel and how it taught me about nor'easters, and even remember permanently marking the barometer as Hurricane David (1979) passed overhead since it would probably be the lowest pressure I would ever see.

The wind speed didn't read directly on the gauge.  You had to watch the dial move over a certain period of time and the difference on the dial was the wind speed.

I'm tempted to bid on it, but I honestly don't have the wall space for it.....

I had that kit also but without the anemometer. It was a gift from my parents, it was awesome!

My first "weather" station was an anemometer I built in eighth grade out of a half gallon milk carton. Got an A for it too!

I wish I had seen this in 2015! I just received another one on ebay that was used, just the panel (no out door unit).

I had one of those too! Wow!

I remember the gearing for the anemometer was plastic and eroded so badly that it quit working. Oh well!

Necropost,  but I had one of those Skilcraft weather stations in the 70's and still have it. I would need to replace the gears for the anemometer and get a new sling hygrometer but otherwise it's in great shape. I need to hang it up sometime.
