Older style weather station
« on: March 08, 2020, 05:43:57 PM »
My weather station is a variety of manual instruments and some newer technology.

Here's the outside mast with Stevenson screen (max/min thermometer, dial thermometer, and wireless thermometer/hygrometer sensor). The anemometer is a Maximum Instruments Nor'easter and the wind direction is an Inspeed visual wind vane. Not pictured is my Stratus manual rain gauge.

Inside I have the Nor'easter readout for wind speed. I use a Maximum Instruments Proteus barometer.

Thanks! I just noticed that you can see the rain gauge off to the side.

The best part is that you don't need to worry about firmware updates and power outages.
Keep that thing going even if you ever get a modern station because it looks awesome.

I appreciate the compliments! At some point I'll likely add components that I can monitor from my phone and share via wx underground or a similar platform. But for now I enjoy compulsively going out to check on things in person 😊
