Logia 5-in-1 reads high in late afternoon
« on: August 27, 2024, 05:43:22 PM »
I got a Logia 5-in-1 as a gift last week.

Works well for the price point, but I’ve noticed an issue with this that I also had with my previous weather station, which was an Acu-Rite 5-in-1.  Despite the presence of a radiation shield on the Logia and an internal fan in the AcuRite, both of them seem to read about 3 or 4°F too high between 3:30 and 5:30 in the afternoon on a sunny day. My guess is there’s a little bit of solar gain somewhere on the device, but I don’t know how to prevent it. It is hanging a couple feet off the edge of my deck, so I wonder if it’s heat from the deck, but why would it only be during that time of day? If the sun is shining it’s consistently reading about 3-4° higher than what my iPhone app says the local temp is at that time of day, whereas most of the time it’s within a degree at most.
