Davis Instruments Weather Stations / Re: Setting Correct Barometer reading with VP2 and Weather Envoy
« Last post by Ahill on Today at 12:05:03 AM »Just a bit of information. I have had the Vantage Pro 2 since February and transmit simultaneously to both a new 6313 Console, and a Weather Envoy. The Console does a good job of tracking my local barometer reference, but the Envoy barometer consistently reads low and responds slower to pressure changes. The console is used mainly for casual readings in the house. The Envoy is connected with the Davis Data logger to a computer with Weatherlink software uploading to Weatherlink.com. There my pro package sends the data to CWOP, WU, etc. There is a member “gszlag” who is a pro on here when it comes to setting up pressure readings to send to cwop. He helped setup my ambient system to correctly send pressure to cwop now i have a vp2 and wondering if i need to figure out and do the same thing.
I have read the 6313 Console uses the Altimeter method for tracking the barometric pressure, but the Envoy uses the "Standard" method. I cannot get the Envoy to work and match the reference data.
The reference data is a local regional airport and it sits at 5505 foot altitude and is 4.16 US Miles from my Envoy and logger. The Envoy sits at 5818 foot altitude. So it's 317 feet higher. As an example just today, my current reading of the reference altitude is 30.12 inches and my Envoy is reading 30.00. It reads consistently low. Just for comparison, the 6313 Console is reading 30.13, similar to the airport reading. Also the 6313 Console and the Weather Envoy are only 25 feet apart in the same house.
So how do I fix this? CWOP is hating my barometric pressure reading via the Davis Weather Envoy, and I don't know how to fix this.
So the vp2 does not send the correct “altimeter” pressure that cwop is requiring?
Thanks
