Jerry in chrome I had to download plugin and right click and load each time. Then hit the arrow button on player window for camera to appear.
So that's the trick I never discovered.  Thanks!

I will say their software interface is not nearly as good as the stardot cameras but then for 1/4 the price I can live with it.
I agree that the Stardots are initially much more user-friendly, but mine are 5 or more years old now with numerous dead pixels that show up at night.  For 1/4 the price I can put up with no dead pixels and a more cumbersome initial access technique.  HIkVision also sells much pricier box cameras, but the one that's the most intriguing to me is the outdoor PTZ capable camera with a wiper.  Unfortunately there's no mention of English firmware with this camera, nor is it found on Amazon.  This generic camera looks similar to the HikVision, but firmware language and reliability would be a crapshoot.

I never used the CD that came with the camera. I heard it was crap so I never bothered with it. So quick and easy to use SADP.

I just now downloaded and installed the SADP and it's the same as the initial setup for the iVMS-4200 software.  I agree that after the initial setup the iVMS-4200 software is lousy.  SADP is all you really need.

Lol, no. I may have a location with a lot of wildlife and possible bald eagle nest. Sound is a must. :)

Which hiki has a mic?

No mic.  Your right. If it sways in the wind your cam would be a shaky stream.

I think some of the domes do. You want to hear the wind blow and the rain fall huh Chris.

Thanks guys, I now have two of the three cams running on Netcam Studio, but only one on website until I can get them mounted outdoors.

After hearing some cams especially the Jackson hole cam with sound I really would prefer sound on at least one of the cameras. Makes it much more interesting and gives that being there feeling. Another good cam with sound is the Bali elephant trail cam, it's nighttime there now however but starting about 6pm eastern it gets going.

I have very little traffic but you could hear the birds sing this spring. Actually we have some Canadian geese occasionally I hear and see, that apparently got lost going south. My cousin on a ranch said geese didn't use to winter around here but started showing up for a couple weeks about 10 years ago in late December into January but I think they moved on now.

They dont get as much TV time now. The local station is too busy showing all the local traffic cams instead.  #-o

I have one coming and it should be here Wednesday. Also ordered the TPLink POE injector and another pc for dedication to the cam. Its going to be at a remote location. Which software has everybody been using to connect to the camera? Sounds like the cd that comes with it is useless. Also, are any of you having issues with the camera locking up?

Use the SADP software from the link below. I personally never used the cd that came with the camera. You use the SADP software to get the IP and plug in your gateway and port. Then configure your router to mirror the port and the IP. Log into the cam with your external IP and port that you have chosen. Mine has been going strong since I had it with no issues.

Ok thanks. Looking forward to testing this cam out.The box I ordered is a dual core 3.2G with 2G ram USFF by Dell. Its what I use on all my cams. The only difference is this will be the first IP cam. I would think this setup would be able to handle the Hiki. If all goes well I may slowly migrate from the USB Logi's to Hiki's.

Cool! Is the connector to the cam weatherproof? Or does it need to be in a box?
