Still struggling.  My ISP forwarded the ports, and I downloaded webcamxp, I can not get the stream to open in wcxp.  One thing I do remember, when I first opened the camera, the instructions said to install the plug-in before viewing the live video.  I never got the screen prompting me to download the plug-in, the video just started in QuickTime.  Could this be part of my problem?

I had since disabled the QuickTime plug-in and it is operating on the Webcomponents. If I click on QT,  it tells me there is no plug-in, but go back and click on Wc and the video comes right up.   ](*,) ](*,)

Okay.... So it is working when you log into the cam..... Make sure you close out of it. Then open Webcam. Can you access it in WC by going through the setup a source routine?

got to the Network Camera Wizard.  Information appeared correct.  No idea what username and password it wants, so left blank.  Hit test and got message HTTP/1.1 200 ok.  Hit finish and got message "Error occurred while connecting video source"

Tried that to begin with, same results.  See why I am so frustrated.

It maybe that WC XP cannot handle that camera. I had the same issue with WC7 Pro on my Full HD cams and switched to Netcam Studio and that is what I am using now with no problems what so ever.  NetcamStudio is also a product of Webcam. Give it a try.... It's free for up to 4 cams.

Thanks Joe, I'll give it a try tomorrow.  My head is not ready for any more of this today.

The default user name in Hikvision control panel  is admin and default password is 12345. Once you get in you can change password.

My system is 64 bit... So, that's what I chose.

Check your system info for Win 7 it will say if it's 32 or 64 bit.

If you have more than 4 GB of ram in your PC then you have 64 bit. 32 bit cannot handle more than 4 GB.

OK. Webcam XP can't handle it so Joe is right. Download the free version of Webcam 7 that I posted earlier in this thread or try Netcam Studio.

It just might for you Ryan. I was working with the programmer, owner and tech support folks at WC while I was have issues with WC7 not being able to handle the HD cam. They use the same filters for many of the products so if you have WC7 you'll have filters that XP does not and because you have WC7 installed they could work. They suggested Netcam Studio to me as it has filters that WC7 does not.

Don't full understand it..... But, Netcam Studio does work and WC7 did not.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

Thanks Ryan, I feel a little better now.  :-)  Will be trying new software after I finish putting together a batch of beef barley soup in the slow cooker.

Hey Joe, my flipping Norton 360 won't let me install the software.  Should I just shut Norton down?

Just disable it while u download. Norton is strict on things like that. I use MSE.
