WS80 solar output
« on: February 22, 2023, 02:55:20 PM »
Any know what's the minimum solar output ( W/m2 ) needed to charge the supercap ?

I've been reading the Tempest forum and seen a value of 140 W/m2 to produce charging ( so I guess the WS80 will be about the same )

I'm not sure that is correct. My WS80 would have had just over and hour of charging today, not very sunny and my batteries are still showing 3.28V and they've not been changed since last summer! Looking at what might happen back on 1st January in a perfectly sunny day I would get about 4 hours of charging and we all know what winter can be like.

If it is like the WS90, small :)

But the drain is also small. But , the charging source is also small, so it takes a while.

Not like a supercap used in like an audio system

Not exactly, but I think it is a silab si1133 or similar ( the chip resembles quite well one of those silab sensors ), not sure about the exact part number
