Windchill
« on: June 22, 2013, 02:50:48 PM »
I do not know if this is a Cumulus question or Davis---perhaps both.

And I think I even noticed this with the Oregon Sci 200 and WSDL.

There has been a heat index reading here in TX running about 5 degrees higher than the temp but curiously, and especially at night, subsequently there would be a windchill recorded as well and about a degree cooler than the actual temp.  Hard to fathom how one could have a wind chill and heat index at the same time. I looked in the Davis console manual and didnt see anything on it. And of course it sends these silly readings out to the world.

So I set Cumulus under station settings to "Let Cumulus calculate the windchill".  Now at least the wind chill is the same as the temperature. But still sending the data out. It seems to me the data could be sent out dashed or something when obviously we are in the heat of summer here !   ](*,)
