new firmware version for HP10: V1.0.8
« on: February 02, 2023, 04:10:50 AM »
Hi!

There's a new firmware version V1.0.8 available for the HP10.
Use the current WSView Plus app or the web interface of the HP10 ("Device Setting") to update.

Changelog for V1.0.8:
1. Fix known bugs
2. Support remote firmware upgrade.

edit:
Just installed - no problems so far.

Just went to do the update. Noticed the camera was not sending/storing any images yesterday and today prior to update.
Post update image shots started showing again.

Hi!

Until now, I had to restart the HP10 every few days because otherwise there were more and more picture disturbances. Maybe Ecowitt has also done something there - "Fix known bugs". I hope so.

Hi Oliver,

Can this be used for any other purpose , other than posting to Ecowitt.net? Not so much direct posting, but some of the basics for use in other systems, like an NVR, H.264/265 , etc ?

I'm not trying to trash the unit, I am just interested, as to how far this is locked down.

I just had to buy another security cam, and actually contemplated the HP10. But it would need to have those extra features, which are actually extremely common. So I'm just wondering the wisdom of putting a cam out with a limited functionality, when, it appears, you could put one out with the complete suite of features for other use, and to make it market viable and attractive , also have the direct upload to Ecowitt.net.

Yeah, I know, I really broke the rule on off topic, stupid me

Hi!

Out of the box: no way.
There's no ONVIF, no RTSP no H.26x - nothing.
However, for the ESP32CAM, on which the HP10 is apparently based, there is an alternative firmware that supports RTSP. So in principle it would probably work. But I wouldn't waste my time on such experiments.

Hi!

On the download page for the HP10 there was an update to the Cloud API documentation today.
I haven't checked the changes yet - maybe today was just the first time the link was provided there.
