Author Topic: WU Webcams Not Updating (Read 11343 times)

I just noticed that my webcam image (which is set up to FTP to WU) hasn't updated since around 1:30PM ET, and it is now 4:45PM. Normally it updates once every 5 minutes, with some variability. I've never seen it go this long without updating however. I've reset everything to see if that fixed the problem, but it didn't.

I also checked other local webcams and they all haven't updated since around the same time as mine, so this tells me its a WU issue with webcams, which seems to be a common problem.

Anybody else seeing the problem on their end?

Same for me, manually trying to login to ftp Wunderground.com seems to concur that it's down. My station is IABERDEE138

Ya still nothing updated on my end. I hate to hear that you have the same problem but it's good to know its not just me and something on my end!

Make that three, my four went down between 11:25 and 11:30 this morning, Mountain time.

My image hasn't been available from the webcam tab for a long, long, time, yet it would be available elsewhere on the WU page. Go figure. They still have a lot of bugs to work out. And after months and months of trying, I still can't upload a pic of my wx station. And to me, metadata is extremely important.

Still down here as well. I sent them a message so we will see where that gets, although I am sure they are already aware of the issue.

Looks like we are starting a club. Mine is also not updating. Haven't made any changes to my system. Performed a tracert and it seems to get to their site before it times out.

Looks like some of the users are still able to update, though. I have access to another account and it isn't able to contact the FTP server, either.

Same here...figured it was a problem at my end, then saw a bunch of cams on the map that all died around the same time. No response from the webcam.wunderground.com server, so I guess it's down. Odd thing is that there are some cams out there updating.

Hmm, after making no changes I cannot ftp anymore. It states check username, pw...etc.

I'm thinking you're right. All webcams that use FTP are down around here. I'm worried the problem won't be fixed right away either because of the holiday weekend, but I hope I'm wrong!

Same here. I started using the URL updating process but that was extremely unstable, so I switched to FTP and that was pretty rock solid for months (for me anyways) up until now.

When I started too, I used URL, but as you, found it about worthless. Never seemed to work well at all.

FTP works better, but isn't perfect either. I'll check out the all day video once in a while and see it skip hours here and there. The only thing that made it any better was to only update every three or five minutes - forget what I set it at. Seems that updating every minute made things worse on the all day video.
Maybe they decided to change it like the WunderMap, and just forgot to tell us...

the site that most wunderground webcams use is down. webcam.wunderground.com isitdownrightnow.com will let you know if sites are
down

Surprisingly my IONTARIO226 https://www.wunderground.com/webcams/PaulMy/1/video.html?month=09&year=2016&filename=current.mp4 has been fine the last few days, but not so for most of the time before then. I use the URL method.

My Bloomsky IONTARIO1189 https://www.wunderground.com/webcams/PaulMy/4/video.html?month=09&year=2016&filename=current.mp4 was also working fine yesterday but can't connect to it today.

Using FTP. Stopped working. Last upload was 9/2 at about 5:30pm PST. Was troubleshooting unsuccessfully until I found this thread.
