Topic: Number of monthly views

I have been a long time contributor to WU and just now discovered that they post the number of times my data has been viewed.  Is this something new, or have I just been asleep all this time?

Does anyone out there keep track of their monthly views?  I am just curious, as mine says almost 1200 since Nov. 1st.

Mark, that feature has been around for at least a few years.  I look at my count when I'm periodically checking that WU is receiving my data and cam jpg properly.  Data transmission to WU seems to go wrong so often.

I think there are automated weather data aggregators that scoop data off your tabulation page every few hours and run up the view count.  A lot of the stations near me run somewhat similar total view counts that can't ALL be caused by individuals looking at the data.

For as long as I've been a contributer since December of 2009 It's been there.

One other cool idea for the Weather Underground crew is to give more stat's on view source, view number for the day and year. and view history over a period of time like Youtube does. I know they're different things but I've alwasy been curious as to the traffic.
