Archive Lightning Data for GR2
« on: November 01, 2017, 09:26:28 PM »
Hi All:

I am looking to sync archived level-II radar and lightning (NLDN, ENTLN, or USPLN) data on GR2Analyst. Does anyone know of a means to acquire these data (lightning) and how to sync it with level-II radar (NCEI) data?

Thanks!

Hi,

To my knowledge, there isn't a way to sync GR2AE data with lightning data. All of the companies you listed charge big bucks (thousands of dollars) for lightning data.

Thank you for the reply. I have ENTLN data that I purchased in (.csv) format. Is there a way to ingest these into GR2?

The only way I know to look at lightning in any GR products is using placefiles from a 3rd party like Allisonhouse.

Thank you. I will contact them. Very interesting to have to pay for the data and the placefile (separately).

That's why I don't use them.

Have you asked on the GR Owner's forum?

Banners, tags, widgets, etc. are why I have Signatures turned off.

I have. This seems to be THE question: how to merge/sync archived radar and lightning data.
