This morning, I've noticed some strange behaviour on the WSView plus App.
The IP address for my GW2000A toggles between two addresses when viewed on the device list.

xxx.xxx.xxx.35 and
xxx.xxx.xxx.37

xxx.xxx.xxx.35 is the correct IP address and I have no problems with the displayed data on CumulusMX, Home Assistant or Ecowitt.net (app and PC).

Using the a web browser, the live data is diplayed using xxx.xxx.xxx.35.
xxx.xxx.xxx.37 is not found.

On WSView plus app, if I manage to tap  on the box when it displays the corrrect IP, it displays correctly.
If tapped when the wrong IP address is showing, the it tries... and then goes back to the my devices screen.
The IP Connection tab in the app works as expected and then adds the GW2000A to the favourite list, but then changes the IP address to the incorrect (xxx.xxx.xxx.37) IP address (and toggles). The "favorite" can be edited and deleted.
The toggling IP addresses appears on both the Device List screen and Favorites screen.
I have 3 other devices  on the WSView plus app (HP2550, GW1000A & Ventus830) all working OK.

The GW2000A sends data to CumulsMX, Ecowitt.net and Home Assistant without issues.
Also when live data is displayed on the WSView plus app, it is correct.

The GW2000A is connected via LAN and the WIFI switched off.

Anyone else seen this before?

Thanks.  It worked for me, too.

There is confidence that it will work stably and well, because I do not smile to climb on the roofs and waste time. I've done it enough times.

The amount of updates to the WS90 has been overwhelming over the past 2 years and the product has continued to fail to run to soft 1.3.8 according to the manufacturer's specifications in the product sheet. I have concerns that 1.4.3 will not be any better. I have already commissioned a colleague from Poland to test against Davis VP2 and Hongyuv WDS2E after Lorawan. It looks like we are guinea pigs for Ecowitt, paying money for the product and they are releasing new software versions by trial and error, probably testing the Wittboy and WS80 without a reference device a longer period of time.

In the near future, we will juxtapose the Wittboy on charts with this device to check the Fine Offset accuracy claims: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8ZxAkw23DM

Granted, not wx 24/7 anymore, but at least when there's a severe outbreak, tropical land falling system, blizzard, ect., they still do a decent job with knowledgeable people. I guess better than a sharp stick in the eye, especially for the novice.

Been trying to figure out how to make this work on a server  https://battaglia.ddns.net/twc/
Kinda like it as its reminiscent of the old days when the TWC was weather and not just another dang near useless channel on cable tv,which we dont have here :)

I remember when Telecable came to Bloomington (IL). and at least one TV in bars were tuned to TWC. It was better than some of the channels anyway.

jgentry, how’s that new sensor working? Is it a completely new station or just a new sensor?

Hi!

For the WS90 is a new firmware available: v1.2.8

Changelog WS80 Firmware V1.2.8 Upgrade 2024-04-15

1.Optimize wind speed measurement. To ensure accuracy with the upgrade, a recalibration tozero is required for it to take effect.

You may find these files also on the Ecowitt product page for the WS80.

Oliver

To ensure accuracy with the upgrade, a recalibration to zero is required for it to take effect.

Does the upgrade automatically do the recalibration to zero? If not, how to perform this task.

Update:Read the manual for the ws80 and didn't see this addressed. The manual also states the calibration button is for factory use only. Seen the other thread on updating the ws90. Guessing this would be the same for the ws80.

I would be concerned about the 'rain shadow' being cast by the buildings (and possibly the trees).
How often do you need to actually do something with the rain gauge that would make the top of your roof (where the current station is) not suitable?
