Nominations for Featured WX Website Fall, 2008 now open
« on: February 25, 2009, 01:59:09 PM »
It's time to start the search for the WXForum.net Featured Weather Website for Fall, 2008, so please post your nominations (with a short description about your nominee) in this thread.

Gary's guidance
Quote
Please list your nominations in this thread - it certainly can't hurt for you to describe why you think your nomination is deserving of this honor.

Don't forget that it is perfectly OK to nominate someone who has been nominated in the past but was not selected! We've had some very deserving nominees, and close runoffs!

Some criteria to consider when making nominations:

The visual attractiveness of the site
Ease of navigation
Quality and quantity of useful or interesting information
Educational value
Distinctiveness

While not a hard and fast rule, sites that only use the unmodified default web page template that comes with the software, while absolutely useful and functional, may not cross into that next level to warrant featuring in this manner. Please try to address these areas while nominating a site.

We'll run the nominations through Wednesday, Mar 4, 2009, then start a new thread for polling on Thursday, Mar 5, 2009. The polling will run through Wednesday, Mar 13, 2009.

I have always liked the graphics on this site.
In the about page it says the site uses a VP but I couldn't find a link to it.

Considering that was done with MS FrontPage 2002, it is pretty impressive!

Sure enough, I got my new puter up and running today after being down since Friday's storm.  The house took a direct hit.  Fried the wireless router, both my primary/bu hp laptops.  The wife bought me a Toshiba Satellite.  Slowly brought things back on-line today.

Wed-Wife decided to go 4x4 w/ the trailblazer...front end damage.  Thurs, we rinsed all the mud off, and the pipe inside the outside wall cracked.  2nd garage door broke.  Fri...water collector stopped up.  Then wham.  Pipes froze in vac house in Maine.  My car batt dead.
Bring it on.

Thanks scalphunter for the nom.

+1 for Lee's site.  Those /DIV tags are pretty neat (the FrontPage guy deserves special mention.  Or should it be "special meds"?)

Thanks for the nominations :)

Looks like we'll have to have one winner for each state/province/country.
