Rain resets to 0.2mm at midnight!
« on: October 06, 2012, 02:46:40 AM »
Hi there,

We had quite a bit of rain yesterday in fact we had 15.8 mm in total and it was still raining at midnight. When I got to my station this morning my Vue said 8.4 mm but Cumulus said 8.6 mm! Anyway, I have gone into the rain today part of cumulus and corrected it to my Vue's total of 8.4 mm.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it because of a big rain total before midnight? Is it because it's raining at midnight?

Any help appreciated...

Thanks

Will :D

I'd guess it did miss a tip almost exactly at midnight.
0.2mm is neither here nor there, on other mornings dew will give you the odd tip to make that up again especially this time of year.

Hi 4wd,

Possibly, but zooming in on the graph it just looks like a reset to 0.2mm.
