Well, I had a bit of a "brain fart" and forgot to change over the Aerocone to the old style funnel with the insulator.
It has been running with the heater for a few weeks now.
I was wondering why the melting wasn't working so well
I was thinking that I needed to remove the debris filter and lo and behold, I realized that the Aerocone was still in place.
Fortunately, there doesn't seem have been any damage or distortion to the plastic inside the Aerocone with the heater running. (my heater is just like the official Davis heater, I copied it and fabricated my own)
At least it survived my mistake even though the heater was quite ineffective with the wrong cone.
