How do you get your snow core?
« on: December 23, 2014, 07:29:24 PM »
I tried using a fairly decent fly swatter (some swag from my former employer) as a "snow swatter". I found that the thing would fold over halfway through the operation of lifting the snow and gauge up while trying to flip the whole works so that gravity is your friend and not your enemy. ](*,)

I bought a 4" x 5" heavy duty flipper from a chef's store in Indy, and it doesn't bend. In fact, sliding the gauge up onto the stainless steel flipper seems to work the best.

What do you use? Snow Swatter, Fly Swatter or ???

I use the official Canadian CoCoRaHS supplied MERIT PRO Item No.03060 paint scraper, which is heavy duty plastic (the product tag is still on it ;) )

Enjoy,
Paul

I haven't taken a snow core yet, but I have been pondering this question.

EDIT: We finally had snow.  I accomplished the task with a big, silicone coated spatula.
