Edit: Also where can I download yrno and the compact version of yrno?
Wim had both the MetNo and YrNo scripts in the past but now only see the MetNo http://www.weerstation-leuven.be/

Paul
Hello Paul,
The contents of the forecast files are different between yrno and metno. And metno has a better area-coverage.
So indeed I decided to maintain only one version.

I have downloaded the file realtimeWD.php.
Still not working, but I guess it will supply you with more info.
I thought at one time this page did work.
Thanks Tom.

Thanks Tom.
Just let me explain.
The page to the display the gauges is:
http://www.shermanctweather.com/weather25/index.php?p=25
Inside that page is a call to script to process the realtime file on the server and to return the result:
http://www.shermanctweather.com/weather25/gauges/realtimeWD.php?lang=en
Normally you would not notice anything strange, but now this script has run into an error in the wsSettings.php  file and with the error reporting set on this results in an error message:
Code: [Select]
Notice: Undefined variable: vars in /hermes/waloraweb017/b1261/moo.shermanctweathercom/weather25/wsSettings.php on line 220This error message is then also send back to the page and than the javascript decides: No good data, lets retry.

So if you either remove the error in wsSettings.php (preferred way) or swith of error reporting in realtimeWD.php, the gauges should work as expected.

You can see yourself that all data is OK when you run:
http://www.shermanctweather.com/weather25/gauges/realtimeWD.php?lang=en&debug
It is just the also returned error message which messes things up.

Succes, Wim

I had to do a fresh install, and now I am getting an error as follows

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '%', expecting ']' in /home/wester55/public_html/weather2/uploadWD/testtags.php on line 533
Line 533 in nothing more than "//" (no quotes)

Anyone got an idea?

Could you please zip your testtags.php and post it? So I can take a look into this?
The number 533 is the line were the parser understood there was an error, so the real error can be one or more lines before 533.
But there should not be a parse error in testtags.php as it is not a script which is changed during install. Very strange.

Since 20:00 (8:00PM) yesterday the testtags.php as uploaded to your webserver contains "garbage".
The template detects that and switches back to the last known good data wich is from 20:00.
Normally, sometimes quite often, these garbage uploads happen if an ftp fails in the middle.  So in those cases the last good data is used while waiting until the next correct upload arrives. The weather does not change that much in 5 minutes.

In your case the upload of garbage continues
OR
the upload has halted.

This is from the HTML  of your page (I shortened the garbage):
Code: [Select]
<!-- index.php => wsDataGet.php: get data from weatherprogr / wu sites / metar files -->
<!-- module wsDataGet.php ==== version: 2.30 2013-09-30 -->
<!-- loading uploadWD/testtags.php -->
GIF87adôw,d
. . . . .   continues for a  lot of lines  . . .
Ž䜇$i¸=ÔÉ™K;
<!-- uploaded file incorrect - reverting to cached file -->
<!-- loading tag files from cache/uploadWDtesttagsChPamsmmcmkmhrm -->
This garbage is outputted to the screen as an php file is only read as php after the first < ? php  (without the spaces) in the script.
It  seems a gif is uploaded instead of the tags file.

So check on your windows PC
1. the C:\wdisplay\webfiles\testtags.txt file if it is corrupted/ written over with an image
2. the settings for the upload.
If everything is OK on your PC, than and only than,  go to your webserver and:
3. rename the current testtags.php to testtags-corrupt.php

For a future occasion:
Sometime there is some garbage (FTP errors?) in the files to process and that is in most of the times displayed at the top of the page. Also errors in the processing of scripts can be written there.

It is hidden for the visitors of your website behind the back-ground picture.

So if the page does not start at the top of the browser window you know there is some unexpected garbage or some error message there for you to check.

To see those messages or garbage just go to the menu
Customize ==> Automatically adept coulors and backgrounds? ==> Coulor and style: Pastel ==> Save
Only your background changes (all visitors have their own individual settings for this).
You can now see the messages / garbage at the top of the browser window.

Succes, Wim

Been wondering why Weather Underground History page still loads IOOSTVLA8 data, even I have changed it to my own IMIDTJYL27 history data.

Link: http://byvejr.danmaach.dk/weather2/index.php?p=62&ID=IOOSTVLA8&month=07&day=10&year=2014&mode=1&units=M

Maybe you have the golden answer here

The wsSettings.php file contains all settings for all scripts, more or less.

So there are three settings for wuhistory
wuHistPage true   = OK
wuId = IOOSTVLA8 => should be changed
wuStart = 01-01-2011 => should be changed

Issue with CHMOD in startHere -- Initial Testing.

Found some time to download, upload etc the templates etc.   On doing the initial startHere.php testing, I get a fatal error with the CHMod test, startHere.php output in in the attachment.  I'm not tech enough to know what / how / where to resolve it unfortunately.

Relevant info:
Version is 2.5a
test.azkiwis.net/weather2/startHere.php is where it lives
E-Rice is my hosting
All folders  ID'd in the wiki are set to 777.  No other changes yet made.

The text say to send the output to me. Just to make sure that the template can be installed. The error with chmod only reflects some older scripts and in most cases have no effect.
Just continue the installation, but if we run into minor problems with older scripts we know were to look.
Succes, wim

Time format change   and Precipitation Radar

Firstly the time.  Altho in the US (Arizona) I run the station on 24 hour clock.   I've found  the time /data info in wssettings.php

 $SITE['timeFormat']     = 'M j Y g:i a';
   $SITE['timeOnlyFormat'] = 'g:i a';
   $SITE['hourOnlyFormat'] = 'ga';       and *think* if I use a mod of the European one it should work for me

$SITE['timeFormat']     = 'm-d-Y H:i';      // Euro 'd-m-Y H:i'; 31-03-2012 14:03  US  'M j Y g:i a';  03 31 2013 02:03 pm
   $SITE['timeOnlyFormat'] = 'H:i';         // Euro format hh:mm  (hh=00..23);  US 'g:i a';   5:54 pm
   $SITE['hourOnlyFormat'] = 'H';

Agree?

2nd one -- the precipitation radar (s)  show the Pacific Northwest - seattle etc.    I cannot find where to specify my local NWS radar, KIWA.   I've checked all my entries for locations, lat and long and I can't see any error nor overlooked item..

Edit:    seems it's an Environment Canada radar image WUJ??

Any pointers for me?

Thanks

I changed mine in /inc/rain3Sources.php line 31 $wuRadarStation      = 'OKX';
and line 29 $wuRadarArea      = '2xradara5_anim.gif';   // find your area at http://www.wunderground.com/radar/mosaic.asp

Hi Wim,
I have been experimenting with some parts of your scripts, mainly the weather forecasting.
I got the YR. No one working here www.mad-weather.com/wsyrnofct/printfull.php but when I changed it to one of my own pages the graph isn't being drawn www.mad-weather.com/myyrno.php
Seems odd as everything else seems to be pointing in the right direction.
thanks Rosalind

Hello Rosalind,
The javascripts to draw the graphs are not loaded ?at the right moment?. These are loaded in the standard page at the end. But you put them in front. That seems not to work?.
I will test that later as  at the moment I am not near my systems.
You could try to load the jquery and highcharts javascripts at the end to see if that helps.

I moved the

<script type="text/javascript">var docready=[],$=function(){return{ready:function(fn){docready.push(fn)}}};</script>
to underneath the include and it works.

Hello Rosalind,
The graph is drawn => OK.
But the green pop-ups in the graph are still missing.
So if you want those also, re-include this JQuery call also at the end of your script as it was in the example script.
Code: [Select]
<script type="text/javascript">$=jQuery;jQuery(document).ready(function(){for(n in docready){docready[n]()}});</script>Happy customizing,
Wim
