Jachym was kind enough to donate his time to helping me setup a weather site. I was working well for an hour or so after his initial configs. We are both puzzled by the fact that my Cumulus is uploading a blank realtime.txt file and now the station is offline. Initially on setup we saw the same issue until I played with the internet settings and got it to work. Now it's doing this again and the site hasn't updated since 7:13 PM EST.... FTP settings are correct and it is being uploaded to the directory. 0 bytes....Has anyone using CUmulus 1.9.4 seen this issue before?
I have not had any issue with uploading Cumulus realtime.txt to my webserver. Is the realtime.txt file that is saved in the Cumulus root folder valid? You could try by making a duplicate realtime file (realtimeT.txt) to be processed and uploaded by Cumulus through the extra files process at realtime interval. That is what I do and upload that to a separate webserver folder for another specific template set. So in fact I have 2 realtime.txt files but in separate webserver folders.Paul
I have seen cases where blank files are caused by firewall changes somewhere between the PC and the ftp server, and the solution is to to switch from active to passive ftp mode or vice versa. You could try that, it may help.
Another cause is a zero length file on your web server created by some transient failure. This causes subsequent FTP process to fail, simply delete the empty file from your web server and Cumulus should start working again (usually it doesn't even need a Cumulus restart - but if it still doesn't work then restart Cumulus).
Yep done that a thousand times aday lol

I don't see passive mode on cumulus
Before my server crash it was uploading fine and I haven't touched a thing on it.. Weird and the FTP logs don't give an error it just uploads a blank realtime.txt hmm. And its uploading the same way before I had to reup everything.

Its in passive mode

QuoteDid you confirm that the realtime.txt in your Cumulus folder is blank?I am still unclear if the realtime.txt in your desktop Cumulus folder contains data or not.If it is FTP issue then this will likely not do anything for you, but since you are on build 1097 you could update to the most recent build 1099 and that may eliminate Cumulus as the cause. However, reading the release notes the changes from build 1097 to 1099 does not include anything re FTP.Paul
