Lifetime of probe of WN34S
« on: May 21, 2023, 05:58:15 PM »
For measurement of temperature in soil now experimentally using sensors type DS18B20 in the variant with 'stainless steel' capsule.
Easy & cheap, but after approx. 9 months they show erratic behaviour:
at investigation most probably due to rot & leakage of the capsule.
Exchange requires digging to raise the sensors for replacement.

Thinking about substituting those DS18B20es measuring till a depth of -30cm for something better like Ecowitt WN34S,
but practical question arises:
how much is error-free lifetime of the probe of a WN34S?

Additional, practical questions:
1. Is it possible to purchase spare, replacement sensors for WN34S and/or WN34L?
2. Where?
