hello

if you select no for both air quality options then no air quality features are displayed or linked too.

OK. That is what I thought. I like the version that I am presently using - it shows more data. It can show the AQI via the Current Conditions link and the Moonphase Panel.

Thanks for the quick response.

no problem most changes are reference to air quality.

side note some really usefull control features were released today for the weatherflow hardware control app by weatherflow hopefully the test period for the app will over by the time you get yours they are really working hard and some of the newer features added today is all based on ideas forwarded by field testers over the last few months . all i can say the third unit ive installed is working flawlessly .

have a nice upcoming weekend...brian

I have been using AQI data from a Purple air unit that is a good distance from me, so its not that accurate. Given the choice I would show the Moonphase instead.

I am looking forward to receiving the Weather Flow units. I hope to run them side by side with my Davis - posting the data via the upper panels of your template.

Have a great weekend!

no,problem best to do,what suits your liking and meteobridge and weatherflow perfect combination as the meteobridge will power the weatherflow hub and delivers data as it arrives .

anyway easy to use shown below

That will probably create a slight issue for me, since I have the Meteostick plugged into the meteobridge usb port. Perhaps a USB hub would work. I guess the Weather Flow data is broadcast via UDP.

The news changes to the template look really good:
https://kirkmanweather.com/?theme=dark

I'm just waiting on my WeatherFlow sky to arrive and then I'll be able to add lightning data.

Brian,

I am curious, do you have your WMR-300 console and the Weather Flow Hub attached to your Meteobridge via usb?

good morning chuck

i use two separate meteobridges i think correct me if i am wrong the meteobridge standard would be limited by allocated memory storage if it was possible to use two different hardware simultaneously.

i simply connect two meteobridge units to 2 different LAN  ports on the router  shown below

edit.. i should have added just drop me an email when you have the weatherflow hardware i will send you a  version to use existing hardware and weatherflow simultaneously using there API basically replicates what i do at https://weather34.com without using two meteobridge hubs

Brian,

Ok. I thought you were using both on your site and that is what I was planning on doing. I assume using the Weather Flow API you can grab the data from the local network as it is being sent to the Weather flow server.

I plan to run it along side my Davis and your template provides a great way to add the lightning detection and make comparisons. Using 2 Meteobridge units could be a little pricey. The hardware is cheap, but the 2nd license would be costly.

Thanks for the info.

hello

i am running both on my site with two meteobridge hubs , if you have two meteobridge hubs then you can do that also but you can run one meteobridge with your existing hardware and then use also weatherflow api for lightning , second location temp sensor etc .

i run wmr300 for south facing temp, dew, hum ,wind, rain barometer then weatherflow for uv,solar, lux, lightning and north facing balcony temperature ,hum, dew ..

either way you can combine your existing hardware the new weatherflow hardware simultaneously.

I may go ahead and setup a second Meteobridge. Would I then just select the Weather Flow Station in Meteobridge and use the same API url that I am presently using for the Davis unit?

Sorry for all the questions - trying to get my head around the data sources.

ok

if you are going to run a second meteobridge dedicated to weatherflow , then simply create a folder called mbridge2 and place a copy of mb.php in there

then in the second meteobridge network panel simply add the url for example https://yourdomain/pws/mbridge2/mb.php

you then have a file weatherflow.txt created every 10 seconds or whatever you set it to

28/04/2018 16:13:49 19.9 80.0 16.3 2.8 1.9 321.0 0.0 0.0 1018.0 321.0 2 m/s C hPa mm -- 1018.4 21.4 21.4 18.3 19.9 80.0 -- 20.6 21.7 20180428132125 14.4 20180428060731 3.5 20180428151620 9.3 20180428140102 1020.0 20180428113526 1016.4 20180428002637 3.6 12181 6.0 -- -- 4.9 -- 578.0 24.0 0.0 -- D -- 24.0 -- m -- 13:51 -- -- 7.3 100.0 20180428013036 50.0 20180428131625 16.3 20180428161322 10.6 20180428125225 20.0 78.0 16.0 20.0 78 2.8 2.8 -- -- 1442830 0 17 1341 870.0 83442 26.8 20180427171144 15.8 20180427235237 29.4 20180425145731 7.3 20180410065241 29.4 20180425145731 3.5 20180324190940 8.8 20180427225924 10.4 20180415232337 10.4 20180415232337 18.3 21.4 20180410190803 21.4 20180410190803 870.0 20180428131306 549.0 20180427082438 944.0 20180407125300 944.0 20180407125300 20180428125606 5.1 20180427082438 7.8 20180414133100 7.8 20180414133100

when you are ready and have the weatherflow hardware i can provide all this and simply using a dedicated easyweathersetup screen for this purpose.

this is exactly how i do it on my site .

with meteobridge also if you have lets say two weatherflow AIR sensors and one SKY sensor you can set it up to use all the extra sensor data so you may have AIR sited in a greenhouse or something and another in a field for example.

once you start adding the extra sensor data it really does become easy to use . dont forget the future additional weatherflow module for measuring air quality ... anyway let us know when your ready preferably via email and we set it up its quite easy not much different form existing template setup .

Ok. Now it makes sense. Two separate data streams to fill the template. I think that is what I will do. I already have a spare meteobridge router setup, just need to contact Boris about an additional license.

I will let you know when the Weather Flow arrives - sounds like they are starting to ship.

Thanks again for all of your help and work!

other tips for you chuck if your aware then use them as reminder

1. use AA energizer lithium batteries good for 1 year and as of thursday the hub has been updated with a power save mode so you could get aprox two years out of one set for a piece of hardware..

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Energizer-Ultimate-Lithium-AA-Batteries/dp/B000IWW1G6

dont use duracell or anything else these Energizer-Ultimate-Lithium-AA are tested and proven ..

2. whilst its recommended to locate the air sensor in a shaded environment but be aware this can have an adverse effect on humidity/dewpoint readings during colder winter months where shaded areas get no sunlight and remain damp for longer periods . the sensor is very very sensitive to nearby microclimate.  long periods of siting in a damp area will pegged the humidity at 100% .
get it out in the open in a shield (a good shield design with 4-7 inches of space surrounding to allow for air flow)or use some form of light reflector to protect form direct sunlight .

out of all the ideas i tried homemade this was the best based on finding a balance for lightning and temperature positioning this tracks main station really nicely.obviously if you have a stevenson type then you plop in there..

3.SKY has to be 100% mounted on a solid pole/mast without any swaying !!   i use a short almost solid plastic mast tubing filled with sand to reduce and dampen vibrations from the building. its a different type of sensor when measuring rain and wind to the traditional methods we have become accustom to. false rain can be an issue if you don't pay attention to the importance of solid mounting . a poorly mounted sky will give you misleading data.

4. birds will find it attractive and probably use it as a perch and possibly trigger false rain , placing a nearby reflective objective will deter them again i do this very effectively.

need any more info join the weatherflow community forum there is tons of information to digest . from apps, software, templates, siting ideas and anything you can find relative.

dont forget they provide each owner with a website display that uses websocket technology at no additional cost with wind data updated at 2-3 second intervals lightning as it happens etc  https://smartweather.weatherflow.com/share/1200 thats mine
running and testing power save mode so wind data is every 10 seconds without power save mode enable its 2-3 seconds

edit just saw your post above after i finished... shipping : yes any day now and more improvements made yesterday...

Great Tips. I have been following the forum at WeatherFlow. I think I have a good spot for the Air. Still trying to decide on the Sky. I have a fairly open area. Thinking about a heavy steel pipe (water pipe) driven in the ground (6 to 7 feet above ground), but it may not be solid enough to prevent vibration - I know the Sky unit is very sensitive. I will have to experiment.

Brian,

Quick question. I have noticed that my shared server has an option in control panel to upgrade to PHP 7.0. I am presently using PHP 5.6.35 and MySQL 5.6.38. Are there any issues with your template during an upgrade? I assume that PHP 7 would provide better performance.

Thanks,

Chuck

you will be glad to know its developed on latest 7.2.4 continuously checked with every public release (beta 7.2.5 no problems either)

forgot to add, brand new nearby API metar data script written from the ground up uses an official API good for 2000 calls per day , your required to obtain a free API key and the setup panel for template has been updated to insert the API key. this is only meteobridge users does not work or added to any other version.
it also switches metric to non metric accordingly .

there is also option to use for currentconditions as opposed to weather underground api data .

sign up for an api key here https://www.checkwx.com/signup

however i forsee you will get problems with other files if the server path structure has changed.. i.e wunderground, air quality etc .. i ran your stationcron it returns a blank so check folder permissions jsondata folder particularly .
