Acu-Link Internet Bridge firmware update
« on: November 15, 2012, 12:52:13 AM »
Hey Everybody- anyone who currently has an Acu-Link Internet bridge will be receiving a firmware update!

The Acu-Link Internet bridge firmware version 126 update will occur on Thursday, November 15th. This firmware update will improve bridge performance and stability.

Acu-Link bridges will update automatically - no action is required. During the update, please DO NOT interrupt the power source or your Internet connection to the bridge. The update can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes or longer depending on your Internet connection speed.

Acu-Link Bridge Firmware v126 will include the following:
• Improved data accuracy and charting (firmware protocol includes increased significant digits in data algorithms)
• Rainfall calculation fix for accurate rainfall data
• Bridge and display unit algorithm update, so data matches between units
• Bridge core stability upgrade for improved auto-recovery and up-time
• Methodology update for sensor wireless signal reception, for improved indication of true signal reception

Thanks!!
Ryan

Ryan, I was one of the recent Bridge Acu-Link Beta Testers.  I'm impressed with the 5-n-1 accuracy and the backyard weather site.  Last night we accumulated 0.29" rain in the NWS standard rain gauge, 0.28" in the CoCoRaHS rain gauge, 0.29" indicated on the AcuRite 1015 display, 0.27" indicated on the AcuRite 1055 display (different time/date), and 0.29" on the My Backyard Weather page.  The Davis VP2 indicated 0.20" and the rain total had to be adjusted.  I recommend the AcuRite system.
Al Washington, Lexington, Ga.,  NWS Coop station=LXTG1, Fischer Porter, SRG, MMTS.
CoCoRaHS=GA-OG-1. CWOP=CW2074.  Davis VP2+ WLIP 5.9.2, VP(original) serial, VWS v15.00 p02. ImageSalsa, Win7 & Win8 all-in-one.

I thought I would wake up with the new firmware but it didn't change. Will it be later today or tonight?

The firmware update will be staged throughout the day, can't say exactly when you will receive it- sorry!

Thanks,
Ryan

Rhino

Will the 14 day learning mode for forecast start over when the bridge gets the firmware update? If not, is there a way to reset it?

To start the forecast over again, delete the forecast weather select widget, then create a new one. Note that with the last website update, you can now calibrate the forecast. TO do this- click the "settings" button on the forecast widget, then you can calibrate the forecast.

If you do it on your computer do you also have to do it on the iphone app?

When I reopened it on the computer, it didn't say that it needed X hours before it could display a forecast, the forecast was already available. Is that correct?

If it said it needed 4 hours of historical data, then yes- it reset.

It didn't say it needed 4 hours. It just came back up with a forecast. Removed and re-added the widgets twice now with same results. What should I try now?

Rhino,

Slightly off topic...do any of the stand alone rain gauges communicate with the Bridge?

Thank you,

Keith

It must be a timing issue. Closed the forecast widgets last night and re-selected this morning. Now they say they need 4 hours of historical data.
