New station in SW Alaska
« on: May 23, 2020, 08:26:27 PM »
I just got my first weather station up and running this week. It's a Davis Vantage Pro2 with WeatherLink Live feeding a RPi running Cumulus. So far so good. Thanks to this forum I was able to get everything going with no problems [tup]

The placement for the ISS isn't ideal but it was driven by getting the most sun in the winter (which isn't much). The second picture shows the gap in the mountains which is the only place where the sun comes through in the middle of winter. I think the anemometer is up plenty high.

Looking great--new construction with a photogenic dog in the first picture.  The snow should slide off of the metal roof fairly easily.  Your siting appears to be excellent. [tup]

Great siting ! and great pics. Davis is a great choice for a station because everything has to be "Tougher in Alaska". Sorry the Geo Beach show has been on  streaming lately..
