Vantage Pro II / Weather Link Live
« on: July 23, 2022, 09:25:51 PM »
I am having issues with weather link. It displays my station data but the but displays "No chart data available". If I re-start the computer, the chart data becomes available, after a few hours it will display the no data again. Anyone have ideas to fix this?  #-o

look to see if one of your .wlk files is corrupt.

do a total reset
-shut off the computer
-power down the console--unplug it from wall and console
-pull the batteries
-pull the data logger
-unhook the data logger from the computer

go eat supper

put everything back together like you did when you first started this joyous hobby.

It may work. it does take a few hours to get the barometer to catch up

go Chiefs!!

Can you clarify what your stations set-up is please?

The title of your post mentions Weatherlink Live, but then the text of the post reads more like you're using a legacy logger, like a USB logger and a PC maybe, which is obviously not a Weatherlink Live unit?

It is a USB logger, sorry. Looking at my setup it's a Vantage Pro II, I have a rj11 plugged into the station and on the other end of the cable the serial plug into a USB/Serial converter, it then plugs into the computer USB port. I am viewing the data on the Davis ver 2.2.9 Weather link software on my android phone.

Hope this explains my setup a little better.  =D>

OK, thanks, that makes more sense  [tup]

It sounds like the software is not saving the archive data to local disk properly. You may have a data corruption there. Have a browse through the archive records and see if anything looks odd.

Well, I have tried a total power down of my Vantage Pro II station, unplugging data logger, shut down computer bud did not help. I now see that all of the data charts go from 12am through 12pm and thats it. Do the archive files have an extension of WLK? If they are, can’t really read to see any anomalies with notepad. I hate to wipe the files and lose 3 years of data…. ](*,)
My station can be found by the name of Nixa, MO in the United States if anyone wants to see what is being put out….

Do not delete your *.WLK files, these are the primary archive/download files

1. Check that there are no unexpected .wlk files, ie with a year in the future

2. Use Browse mode inside Weatherlink for Windows to inspect recent files and check for corrupt date stamps and the like.

Hi,

That seems to show current and regularly updating to weatherlink.com  https://www.weatherlink.com/bulletin/f3fd6dd3-19bb-470e-9fed-deb38b6032f4
So WeatherlinkPC seems to be working as it is updating WL.com and likely, as mentioned, a local files issue.

Enjoy,
Paul

First thing is to check that the date on console and on PC are 100% correct.

Well, the charts continue to not disp
lay. Also, continues to create a WLK file for 7-2023 even though the vantage Pro station date and computer are correct. I am not sure what to try next...

Under [Browse Records] tab what are the Date and Time showing and if you scroll back are there any discontinuities in the sequential Date/Time intervals?

The only anomaly I see in the records is for beginning on July 29 it is showing 2023, everything going back to 2021 is normal…..

Try deleting the 2023 records in the Browse Records window back to records of the correct date using the Browse>Delete Records options, then try and download again

Ok, deleted records but since 24 hours have lapsed the charts are only displaying from 10pm to 10am and then stops. I may just have to start over and delete the last three years of data #-o.....
