Good suggestion, but that wouldn't help folks with similar problem (and Windows knowledge) in the future.

These instructions should be a "sticky" at the top of this forum.

Thanks so much for this fix. I had the same issue as the OP after a computer issue.  Deleting the two files fixed everything. I thought I had lost 23 years worth of data!
