I've now got three rain gauges for comparison to a manual rain gauge.
Today's rain:
Davis 9.4mm
WS90 7.9mm gain all set to 0.65
WH40 7.7mm
Manual 7.2mm

Seems Davis single spoon is counting to much rain....
If it is a persistent difference I'd better self calibrate the Davis rain gauge.

I'm happy with my Wittboy. Its a bit tinkerey, and might not be for someone who just bought and mounts it and forgets about it. If you're into doing stuff yourself (which most of us are here on this forum), you'll also be happy with it.

if it were that simple ...  - just had rather strong rainfall for about 30 minutes
WH65: 9.4 mm
WH40: 7.9 mm
WS90: 8.3 mm
gain = 1.0 for all gauges and tiers
the WH40 as usual will have lost some - due to the low rim
that was my last hardware revision and FW 1.1.19 WS90
my ß-WS90 reported 7.0 mm (also on 1.1.19)
0.65 as gain for all 5 tiers (as proposed earlier) would have been heavily underreading

In my case, the gate GW2000 turned out to be faulty. Replacing with the old GW1100 solved the problem and the WS90 has been working properly for days. The latest GW2000 gate tended to freeze periodically for a few minutes and sometimes even hours.

WS90 - 19.4 mm
WS40 - 26.5 mm

During the recent heavy rainfall, it has emerged that the rainfall of the WS90 is greatly underestimated with a long, continuous rainfall. Soft 1.2.0. It was even about 6 liters.

Gain for WS90, 0,55, firmware 1.2.0

My GW2000 also was quite moody from the start ...
I think I have figured out that it (also ?) happens, when you connect to it via both interfaces WLAN and LAN, e.g. weewx or CMX querying via WLAN and WS View Plus and the WebUI via the LAN interface.

Over a longer period it also reported almost every day, over two minutes, an extreme drop in pressure readings by about 300 hPa.
However, since FW 2.1.5 has been installed,  it has become more stable, no more pressure drop-outs and freezers.

I have a 2nd GW2001 since a couple of weeks (also with a latest hardware revision WS90 on FW 1.1.19) and this station behaves without issues - both the GW2000 and the WS90. I have the WS90 gains all set on 1.0 and have it report together with my WH40 and my WS69 rain gauge into weewx. The WS90 readings (on a daily accumulation basis) oscillate between the WS69 and the WH40.

Beware of the difference in the vertical scaling between WS69/WH40 and WS90

I just started to experience this "freezing" or flatlinig of data with my GW2000. During the same time, the HP2551 was reporting correctly for the WS90. Not clear if its an internet/connection issue though, so I'll give it another chance before I bring it up with Ecowitt.

Did you update to the latest firmware recently? Mine went pear shaped right after the update and it got worse. I sent it back in the end.

What do you mean by saying "freezing or flatlinig"? Does it stop transmitting or does it transmits the same data repeatedly ( for all of the values from the sensor ) ?
In the second case it may indicate a problem in rf signal reception.
Every gateway should have a 'grace time' in which continues to transmit ( to the cloud, api... ) the last received value from the sensor before giving up ( this should mask occasional and short rf data loss )

In my case, the GW2000 was losing communication with the WS90. After a minute or a few minutes, he was recovering his communications, but sometimes the data interruptions lasted several hours.

The improvement in data transfer stability has not been made after updating the GW2000 to software version 2.1.5.

I already have a GW1100 on for a week and no technical problems in communicating with WS90 Wittboy.

if it behaves "moodily" as you describe, ask Ecowitt for a replacement.
My first GW2000 was reporting wrong (650 hPa Abs) pressure readings for 2-3 minutes once almost every day (at different times though).
I got it replaced and the new one works flawlessly for 3 weeks now.

It doesn't seem to be a rf brodcast from the WS90 itself and here's how I know:

I've exposted teh WS90 to only 2 gateways:

HP2551C
GW2000

In a period where the issues happens, it only reports data, say once or twice in 3 hours, and ecowitt.net just joins the dots (hence the flatline). This is the case for the GW2000. However, during the same time period as reported by the HP2551C, all the data was there as normal.

Funny thing is, when the GW2000 was in this weird state, my WSVeiw plus app coud not connect to the GW2000, i.e. it would load and be grey, then it would turn light blue and I would press it to ente the live data, it ill try to load, but then go back to the main screen. I had to connect to the GW2000 using a computer and browser, which it connected almost immediately, at which point a rebooted the device from the web interface.

The fact that I connected to the GW2000 via the web interface without any issues, could rule out connectiviy issues, and perhaps related issues to hardware/firmware. I actually did report this to Ecowitt already as it seems at least 2 people have reported similar issues.

The fact that I connected to the GW2000 via the web interface without any issues, could rule out connectiviy issues,
- through which interface were you connecting to the WebUI ?
- through which interface does your WSView (Plus) connect ?
connecting and querying the GW2000 through both (WLAN and LAN) interfaces simultaneously can make it freeze (probably make one or both of  the interfaces freeze)

this has in my observation improved with firmware 2.1.5

Chrome via Windows 10 (wired computer)
Android app via WiFi.

Well it may be true what you're saying the freezing and flatlining started way before I tried to connect to the device.

I'm not convinced that it's a hardware issue of the Gateway, could be a firmware issue perhaps a memory leak over time. Might be addressed by a simple update who knows time will tell

I don't say it is necessarily hardware caused but surely one way or the other hardware (network interface) related.
From the observation something in the handling of API requests coming in parallel through both interfaces, some queueing issue, some running into an endless loop, some bottleneck congestion ....seems to be happening - and that could only be solved by software i.e. firmware.

Ever since I made all my requestors (weewx, meteobridge, WS View Plus ....) only use one and the same interface, here the eth0, the gateway is stable. I haven't checked which interface is used for the posting, ecowitt.net and custom server, but these two activities don't seem to interfere with each other even when using both interfaces. (e.g. posts via WLAN and API requests via LAN)
