Can someone help me create a website for my Davis station?
« on: February 19, 2024, 11:35:12 AM »
Hi guys, i have always wanted to have my data online with graphs and stuff like my own website page just for my Davis vantage pro 2. I am currently running it with My meteobridge but I have 0 skills when it comes to putting a nice site together.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

For meteobridge, you can have a couple of choices of pre-packaged website templates:

PWSdashboard https://pwsdashboard.com/

Saratoga https://saratoga-weather.org/wxtemplates/

both use hosting packages including PHP (V7 or V8).

Also the native Meteobridge template set from weather34 at https://download.meteobridge.com/files/Weather34.zip
However, the original documentation for setting that up on weather34.com seems to have disappeared last year.  It's possible
that Brian has stopped supporting his homeweatherstation dashboard set, so beware of using that.

Hope this helps...

Even this seems out of date.

Yes, it's out of date, as is my own GitHub for the Cumulus version.  I think the better alternatives are the two I mentoned first.. Both Wim and I continue to support those instances.

Hi guys! thanks for the reply! So can someone help me put this together? I have a few sites i saw online as to what i would like for it to look like if its possible.

I love how these graphs looks or might not this be able to be done with my setup using meteobridge.

https://lovingtonweather.com/graphs/

I created this banner on google sites but there options seem limited.

You'll not be able to use Google Sites for your station.. AFAIK they don't support FTP/SFTP/FTPS uploads of content required by meteobridge, and current meteobridge may not support SFTP/FTPS due to an old library in the meteobridge software itself.  Boris would have to recompile to update that library.

You'll need a personal website from a hoster (Ionos, GoDaddy, etc) to use the templates I cited.

I think you did a very good job.
The radar guy in me though says get some software and customize it to your area. Same with the satellite data. COD is a great site but I would try to get away from using another weather site for the data.
But that's just me.
Otherwise you did fantastic for your first crack at it. [tup]

I would love get a better site but sadly I don’t know how to set it up. I use a meteobridge with my Davis. I would probably pay someone to help me set up a nice looking site with customizable graphs etc. 🤷🏻‍♂️🙏🏻

https://forum.meteohub.de/viewtopic.php?t=16253

and is still doing some work occasionally on templates

Hello Ken and all , thanks graham for highlighting this..

Im alive and kicking albeit less time doing website stuff . the template is  updated when required and once a year gets a full makeover with a new layout option and other implemented ideas suggested by end users . Generally updates coincide with PHP revision releases though these are just small updates. tends to go very quiet during my warmer months(Istanbul 6-7 months without a drop of rain  :-( ) with a burst of activity as winter kicks in( currently we get about 2 months of winter )  .

The current Weather34 Aurora MKII version supports 10 layouts (all selectable on the fly and a apple watch layout ).
is compliant  with PHP 8.3.xxx revisions which are installed locally on an old mac 2010 mini converted to a server .
I used to use XAMPP but often the requirement of PHP revisions updates lagged way behind so I now just install a compiled PHP release direct not a user  friendly method but necessary to keep ahead.. https://www.php.net/downloads.php

The template only supports Meteobridge there is no compatibility with Cumulus or other computer type of software.
all support and updates come via https://forum.meteohub.de/viewtopic.php?t=16253 where you can download the master or follow the simple updates .
Support is there but somewhat limited 99% of issues raised get resolved within a few days (this is mostly time differences as I only allocate a short time which is mostly 6am in the morning whilst I have my pint of coffee ! ) , I also often take time to respond which is mostly digesting the issue or request and respond with a proper answer.

so there we are alive and kicking albeit limited .

so examples of current revision use the menu to have a look at the various layouts there is something that generally suits .

Question for you guys being in South Florida we often have tornadoes, severe weather and hurricanes will the weather34 template show these alerts? I notice there are alerts being displayed on the top right corner.
