I presume the sensors just feed both the HP3500 and GW1200 at the same time?  I'm not opposed to getting one, I played around with Cumulus MX but figured out that you needed a gateway to get the near realtime data.  So if you can feed both of them then that would be an easy justification for a gateway :).

Hi,

A 6351 (legacy) Vue console can receive data from a VP2 ISS perfectly well (assuming an appropriate channel setting)
I can confirm the Vue console can pickup the VP2 Plus ISS solar and UV sensors.  From my VP2 Plus ISS I have original VP2 console, Vue console, and WLL receiving all the data.  I do not retransmit.

Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks.  Ecowitt support said the same thing.  So far no dice, I'm wondering if I have a defective sensor unfortunately.  Tried several times reregistering, power cycling both devices, etc.  Took a week and a half to get here from China, unfortunately!
If I were you (not knowing the filling of your wallet though  ;)), I would get me a GW1200 for 34 USD from the amazon.com Ecowitt store.
1. it should receive it (after the latest firmware upgrade which will be offered automatically in the WS View Plus app - for pairing see WiKi))
2. if not, the WH46 is defective and Ecowitt will replace it
3. You will have a backup console/gateway and can view live data in your local network with the WS View Plus app
(many consoles can register and process the same sensors like radio station and receivers)
4. if you want to go IoT some time, the GW1200 is (Ecowitt)IoT ready

you can have a look at our WiKi too: http://meshka.eu/Ecowitt/dokuwiki

Your HP3500 is likely an older model given that its WiFi firmware is EasyWeather 1.6.7 (old iFi modem) and not EasyWeatherPro 5.1.5 (new WiFi modem and Web Interface). This model will never get IoT enabled, however should be able to receive all classical (=non-IoT) sensors. Why the WH46 doesn't work .... - probably the device firmware needs to get upgraded, but an upgrade is not yet available ...

Thanks very much for your advice, John.

Are you waiting long enough to receive data?  On batteries it’s every 10 mins, powered is 1 minute but still might take a few to show up.    I’m assuming this doesn’t show up on your ecowitt.net page?

That is truly an ancient script by Michael of the former relayweather.. the last version I have was from 2011.

I think the issue is your quality data page from gladstone has a missing icon for a check mark about wind data and that causes the script to emit the Notice errata.

You can change cwopstats.php to have
Quote
<?php
error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE);
at the top of of the page (replacing the opening <?php

Thanks, Ken. That got rid of the error message.

The Vantage Vue is unable to receive Solar or UV sensors which are Vantage VP2 sensors only hence can not be re-trasmitted by a Vue

That's not really the full picture. A 6351 (legacy) Vue console can receive data from a VP2 ISS perfectly well (assuming an appropriate channel setting). And if that ISS has solar/UV sensors then the Vue console can decode and display those solar/UV (and ET) signals.

Must admit that I've never tried repeating VP2 solar/UV through a Vue console so cannot confirm first-hand but there's no obvious reason why it shouldn't work.

you don't know before having a prototype and tests - so pre-mature conclusions or judgements may not be helpful

after all, Ecowitt have shown with their WS90 that a comparativly much higher precision is possible than with other haptic rain sensors like the Weatherflow Tempest which is still very poor compared to the WS90.

Only via some AI based midnight "crowd-data correction" including past data from meteorological services they reset the past day readings to higher accuracy. And they need other services and the Tempest station network for that.
Stand-alone the Tempest is still very poor from what I read and a WS90 with all its flaws still classes better.

Why do I say that:
Ecowitt has proven in the past to be able to produce creative and optimized solutions - why not also with an optical sensor, even though for the time being their usage doesn't show satisfactory results.
Let's see what the outcome will be.

EDIT: removed typos
