Windows 10 update and restart
« on: January 16, 2020, 11:55:07 AM »
Hello
I built a new PC for my weather station/website 2 months ago. The PC uses Windows 10.
I was using Windows 7 on my old PC. I built the new PC to deal with the end of support for Windows 7 plus the old PC is 10 years old, time to retire.

Now I am having to deal with Windows updates restarting my PC.
I did add a registry key that is supposed to keep Windows from restarting while user is logged in.
The problem is it’s not working and each time it updates it causes Weatherlink v.6.0.5 to create a 2027 WLK file. To correct I have to shutdown the PC and power on. Then I have to delete the 2027 WLK file then I can successfully restart Weatherlink.

I am looking for a solution that will keep Windows from updating and restarting until I execute the update.
How did you folks address this problem?

Thanks

Thanks for the link.

One of the recommended solutions on the site I have already deployed. I made a couple of minor changes today. Now I just have to wait and see what happens.
I reinstalled Weatherlink and that  seems to have taken care of the problem with that software, don't know how it got messed up but it did.
