Too cool. If my MB ever goes belly up I'm definitely replacing with this.

Units will include license. License is perpetual and there is no 2 year limit on free updates.

Prices will be set by the resellers in their geographies. I don't want to interfere with this by posting my thoughts how they should price. However, I see this as a module every Davis owner should plug-in to boost the console to a new level. So there is no intention to make it a very exclusive, premium-priced product.

This sounds exciting. I'm assuming it replaces WeatherLinkIP. My weather station is in a remote location across the country so I use the remote access feature all the time. Sometimes the power goes out and the wifi router cycles power issuing a new IP. I need to use the "Found WLIPs" menu to see what IP I ned to specify for my Vantage Pro. Am I correct to assume that the Nano just connects like any wifi device and if it's a different IP then the Nano will just resolve that and I can still access remotely?

For my current Meteobridge, across the country, I set up a fixed IP.  Not sure if that matters with the "Secret URL" that MB offers, but I like it that way.  I can also access it via my remote Raspberry Pi using remot3.it

NANO directly reads the data from the console via the connector on the back. Therefore, there is no TCP/IP connection between the NANO and the console, it is directly cabled by a serial protocol.
When NANO gets a new IP from your router (may be caused by a power cycle), it will continue to work. May be you will just need to know the new IP but when you have the remote login enabled even that remains unchanged.

Thank you. That’s very helpful. It sounds like the IP concerns I have now are taken out of the equation and I only need the remote login URL.

To make waiting even a bit more exciting we made a short video about the initial idea, development steps and the final look of the NANO. I hope you enjoy it.

finally my new Davis VP2 arrived and i was going to put off unboxing it until i move house but the curiosity got the better the of me this afternoon. so using the new NANO this is a really awesome piece of technology . NANO setup took literally 5 minutes and having all the benefits of the previous meteobridge hub can only say put it on your shopping list just couldn't be any easier and enough features to cater for every enthusiast.. basically fit and forget and enjoy..

Thanks for the informative post. If I currently have a Meteorbridge hub, can I make a backup of my settings and then use the "restore" button on the Nano interface up transfer my settings?

Yes. But historical min/max values will not be transferred.

Was the cover left off just for the photo? It does fit after fitting the nano doesn't it?
