Incredible rain totals in the New York area from leftover Ophelia, I can't imagine dealing with that much rain at one time. 3 inches in the Chicago area almost swamps all the low areas of the county and Chicago is pretty flat. Basements fill, streets become canals, underpasses (forget about it). 6 or 7 inches in one day, unbelievable. I am sure there are places that have gotten more.

I turned on my furnace Sat. night from it being in the low 40s and the next few days not quickly warming up.  Much to my relief, the furnace worked okay.

Freeze warning out this morning after a day of cold rain.  If it happens the freeze comes a few days too early.

I just hit my first sub-32 a few minutes ago. Freeze expected Tues nite as well w/ 40s coming later this week.

I hope this isn't a sign of a cold winter coming!

The first fall freeze here was 30 on the 30th. Oklahoma City for morning of Nov. 1 hit an all-time low for the date of 23.  It was 24 here.  The former record low for OKC was 25 in 1991.  It had actually snowed in Oklahoma City on Halloween 1991.

In Stillwater it was unusually cold this Halloween 2023 but didn't scare off many Treat or Treaters.  Around 40 of them turned up at my door for the usual number every year.  Nice that the forecast through the first 10 days of November doesn't call for any unusually strong cold fronts.

With the jet stream flattening out, the forecast Sat. Nov. 4th for the last football bedlam between OSU and OU looks good with temps at kickoff around 70 degrees with some wind.  GO POKES!  It the last bedlam football because OU is moving to the SE conference.

Has been pretty wet here recently in the Inland Pacific Northwest with the coast getting much more than we have. 0.77 inches of rain so far this month with 1.11 inches in the past two weeks. CoCoRaHS Data Explorer shows we are at 408% of the monthly normal so far and 159% the normal for the water year.

Nice storm came through for the weekend. Whole area received 4-6 inches. I had 4.52 in the bucket. Pressure dropped all the way to 29.42.  They said it would be windy and some places had gusts over 50 mph. Highest I saw was 75. Not real windy here but living in the woods it gets knocked down.
No thunderstorms here just moderate rain although my daughter and in-laws in south Florida lost power  with the storms down there.
New Davis rain bucket recorded 4.64. Slightly more then the Coco but the the rain rates never really got higher then 2 inches.
All in all a nice Saturday/Saturday night storm . Here's hoping the weather gods bring me another one for xmas.  :-)
