New Update is out for GR3

See the GRL owner's forum.

Better placefile handling, cursor control, fix for a Vista issue, support for some modified radar products.

v1.2 should be considered a critical update.

NOAA has added some new VCP (radar modes). If you don't have the updated version when these modes are active, your GRLevel3 will function unreliability.

(Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have bothered upgrading....    )

I think I found the article which mentions them.

And here's even more info...

I'd say post the question in the GRLevel3 forums... I bet one of those guys could explain it.

My guess is that it's a new algothrim for filtering the data.

Here is what Mike said regarding the new VCP support:

Here's a link to the PDF describing the new VCPs:

http://www.roc.noaa.gov/NWS_Level_2/Update0307_Lvl2_rev0.pdf

Start reading in the "Build 9" section. For us end users, it just means that BV and SRV should have less RF.

GRLevel3 needed a rev for this change because it uses the VCP to decide when to poll next. GR2 and AE constantly poll so they don't need to be updated.
