Sorry Joe T, I asked you to call me
I explained in my e-mails with you why troubleshooting problems such as this is not effective over the phone, since it often requires waiting for systems to update.
I knew this was much more then FAQs could fix.
I also explained the sum of all the knowledge we have is in the FAQs. There's nothing more I could add on the phone. I would have just gone through the FAQs with you. And that is why I suggested you check out wxforum.net, as there may have been something which someone found that corrected this which had not been shared with us to add to the FAQs.
You may want to go through the FAQs again, as one of the items I brought up in one of the latest e-mails is in the FAQs, but you said you had not done it. It is important everything in the FAQ on this issue be followed. If you skip one step because you don't think it is relevant you may miss the one thing which fixes it for you.
This is a frequent problem with VWS, much more than any other software. Have you talked to Ambient about this? Although VWS is telling you it is sending data I've thoroughly checked the PWSweather.com server logs and do not see where your VWS software is even trying to communicate with the server. So it is getting stopped somewhere. Like I explained in my e-mail... if you're trying to make a phone call and, even though the buttons are going down, there are no tones going out it's not the fault of the person you're trying to call and they cannot correct it. The problem is in VWS, a firewall or maybe even your Internet provider (they filter out many strange things these days). Data is being received from thousands of stations every hour, so I don't see where the problem could be on the PWSweather.com end.
do I just forget about weatherforyou/PWS
While our goal is to serve every personal weather station who wishes to participate we cannot control issues outside of our own systems. I am sorry it is not working for you.
