Topic: Bloomsky And WU

Trying to get my new Bloomsky Sky 2 Hooked Up With WU but getting errors from there ftp server webcam.wunderground.com and bloomsky to try to get camera url. Anyone can help me get mine up and running on my WU page I would appreciate it. I am stumped?

I believe you are supposed to use this site.  Basically Bloomsky will upload the files for you.  You just provide your WUnderground info.

Have A Question What Is The Camera ID I will most likely laugh at myself once I get this figured out! But this is all new to me. I am adding a new device on WU station page for cam. It has option of FTP or URL for uploading. I am assuming it is FTP? Anyways it assigns me a Device ID..wu-XXXXXXXCAM1 then and upload key. Then gives me the FTP Configuration info Server: webcam.wunderground.com Password: XXXXXXXX Directory '/' (or leave blank) File Name: image.jpg Transfer Type: Binary  But the thing is the address for the bloomsky is http://wun.bloomsky.com it ask for info for WU I have a hosting site but do I need to use that or what. I am a big overwhelmed I guess!

You have to log into WUnderground and create the device first.  You set it up as a URL camera, but leave it blank.  Once that is complete, it will give you a Camera ID.

Then you login to the WUN.bloomsky.com site with your Bloomsky ID.  Fill out the form with that camera ID.  The Bloomsky does the uploads for you.

It's been a few years for me, but that's what I recall...

Yeah, your odds of winning the lottery may be better than getting WU cameras to work.  It won't be Bloomsky's fault.  It's not you, it's WU...

If anyone can figure out how to grab image url from bloomsky shots to upload to WU I would like to know how its done. They use an api so as long as WU does not give you that choice like they do for FTP and URL I doubt I will ever be able to share my sky shots on my WU station page. They need a place where you can put your API in and I think it would work. Good Luck with that! I am very disappointed in WU they want your data but when it comes to other things your nothing!

follow the directions.   For my experience I notice that  the updates are every 5 minutes to the server they have with Amazon (bloomsky)  and there is no threading of images to WU, you might get a current image and then one later.  but that is the way, the above.   good luck.

Not from WU but both Jaquim and Wim had created scripts to capture the image from the Bloomsky using the Bloomsky API - i.e. http://www.komokaweather.com/bloomsky/bloomSkyLatest.php which is from Wim's Bloomsky script http://www.komokaweather.com/bloomsky/ws_bloomsky.php.

Yes just like that one you have on WU is what I have been trying to figure out. I have two stations I have my Acurite Atlas and Also My Bloomsky SKY 2 and The Storm 2 but it does not want to stay working on WU it was up and running then went offline or something caused it to delete. My Acurite Atlas always stays online on WU it the Bloomsky that seems to being having issues, Maybe because I am using the same station address?
