Can you explain what the Java installation or Windows is telling you when installing it and having an issue?
It's possible you have more than one Java installation (and possibly version) that is interfering.
Usually the installer itself will check for older or previous installation and uninstall them. But you can check this manually and download this from Java -
https://java.com/en/download/uninstalltool.jspRun it and it will check to see if you have any versions installed or maybe pieces, and help you uninstall them. Do a reset of the computer.
Usually the default download for Java is a small installer that in turn downloads the full installation, but if you have had trouble in the past you might want to download the full instillation and try it that way.
https://java.com/en/download/manual.jspAt the above link download "Windows Offline". (There is a 64-bit version but I usually just do the default one as Yawcam is the only Java software I use, outside of an OpenStreetMap.org mapping program - and both run fine on the default 32-bit version).
There are also install instructions right beside it.
It should be very straight-forward - Windows 10's UAC will pop up asking if you want to install the program, but I assume you've seen that a million times before and you just click Yes.
They recommend resetting after an installation but you don't need to.
Still don't have the webcam online. I think it is that Java would not install properly on my new Windows 10 PC and I uninstalled it a couple of times.
Any suggestions on getting the correct Java installed.
Thanks,
Paul
