2014 CoCoRaHS Meeting in Georgia
« on: September 22, 2014, 02:13:27 PM »
The Oglethorpe County Rainfall Reporting Network members who are also members of CoCoRaHS have met every year since 2007.  Most of our members and several from other counties will meet Saturday, November 1, from 10am to 1:30pm.  We meet at the Oglethorpe County Public Library at 858 Athens Road in Lexington, Georgia.
We expect a gathering of at least 25 rain observers.  We will have two guest meteorologists (NWS & UGA) providing winter refresher training on measuring snow, ice accumulation, and water content.  Planning to have NWS pictures and 'misconceptions' of the storms from an NWS perspective.
The free meeting is open to everyone with an interest in reporting precipitation.  We have been publishing our rain amounts in the local newspaper since before CoCoRaHS began operating in Georgia.  Come meet other observers and also get real hands on gauge and report training.  The agenda has social time because otherwise we can't get the folks to go home when the library closes.
Email or pm me for more information.
