Issue with new WR400
« on: June 24, 2020, 11:45:12 AM »
I've had this radio for a couple weeks but it's not alerting according to how I have it set. I plugged in my old WR300 so I'd know when the test went out. I checked the radio when that happened, the advisory light was flashing and the test message was scrolling on the screen but I never got the audio alert.
I checked the settings and alert is set to voice, when I tap the top button I get clear audio from the NWS so I'm not sure where the problem might be, any suggestions?

The radio will only alert you if it miss's test's for 10 days. Then it will beep at you.

I'm aware of that, my post stated it failed to audibly alert during the weekly test.

They are turned off by default. See pages 10 & 11 of the manual.

That was it, thank you sir. Who'd of thought they'd disable the test alert.

Most folks I know, including me, don't want to hear the test warnings.
