GW1000 Strange Behavior

Hi, this my first post here, but I read this excellent forum every day until one year…

Two weeks ago I have buying the Ecowitt HP2551 and the GW1000 for replacement of my 15 years hold Honeywell TE923W.

I have choosing this model after a lot of reading because I want to use-it with my Weather Display software. It’s important to me because I want to continue to maintain my 15 years DataBase cumulated in WD.

The data from WH32 (Inside temperature, inside humidity and pressure) always match always match the HP2551 display console when I compare to EasyWheater-WIFI5215.

HOWEVER the same data never match when I compare to GW1000-WOF32B9. So my reading into WD is false...

All the other data perfectly match in booth case.

Last week I have buying the GW1004 thinking that the problem became from the GW1000, but I have the same issue.

Also for my test I have placed the WH32 and the WH31 side to side and booth reading perfectly match. Both units have the latest update.

I have also sending a email to Ecowitt  last week, but I have not receive any reply.

The GW1000 has it's own internal sensor for pressure, internal temperature, and humidity. These cannot be overridden. So there will be differences when compared to other consoles.

I'm not sure if this is your issue, but something to consider.

I removed my post above and will save it for another day because re-reading IgRich's issue - I think it's different. Sounds like Rover is exactly correct. =)

Yes, I think the OP issue is that they have not realised that the GW1000 uses its own sensor (one on the end of the wire) to read the temp/humidity and that the Indoor Temp/Humidity/Barometer sensor provided with the HP2551 is ignored by the GW1000 as a consequence.

In order to get the GW1000 and the HP2551 console to read the same indoor value you would need to place the GW1000 internal sensor (at the end of the wire) right next to the HP2551 internal sensor

Effectively, I have not realized  this behavior so all my test was biased…

Today’s  I have moved the GW1000 and the WH32 sensor side by side and everything match the console.

Now I am very happy with my new station…

As Mandrake stated, this is the best way to get them to be the same. However, they are separate sensors, and they each have a % error, and also more than likely timing differentials for reporting. In most cases your readings should be in agreement, but there may be cases where they are slightly off. (And this is OK)
