BotSpotVM Not Visible to Network
« on: June 18, 2025, 06:00:50 AM »
So I set up Win11 on BotSpotVM on my RPi 5.

I can successfully run my SunRecorder program, just as if it were on my Win10 laptop.

I am able to use a script and do a FTP transfer of a file to my web hosting site.

From my Win10 Laptop, I am able to also transfer a different file to my RPi ZeroW running CMx on local network.

The IP address of the BotSpotVM is 10.0.0.XX. This is not visible on my local network, and it cannot access local network to transfer the different file. Only the RPi OS is visible on LAN.

I read the comments in the config file about changing 127.0.0.1 to 0.0.0.0, but that does not seem to have any effect. (Supposed to make it visible on LAN)

Has anyone played around with this aspect of BotSpotVM?

TIA

D

Well, well, well.

I stumbled upon a solution.

I tried over and over to get W11 with WoR set up and just failed to boot. That could have solved the issue by running W11 straight up on the Pi, but no joy.

Even if I had the RPi connected to the same WiFi as the BVM was wired connected to, the transfer would not happen.

So yesterday, I reset the three mesh routers to bridge mode running off my main ISP router. BOOM! Everybody can see everybody now.

Now I can run the Sun Recorder program on the Pi so the laptop is not running. \:D/ \:D/ =D>
